Sold down the river

When I moved here I was sold on the idea of freedom.

The United States of America as it stands today; is not a free country.

Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are not going to save this nation. These two men are parasites. Mitt Romney is not a great businessman; he is a looter of the highest caliber. Paul Ryan is not a great Ayn Rand prodigy; he is a moocher. Paul Ryan practically begged for the auto bailouts which Obama has been ridiculed for over the last four years. There is no clear evidence to prove there is any real difference in policy between a Romney and an Obama administration. Both men support more government, both men will destroy this country.

It is upsetting and infuriating to see people around you who believe in freedom, and yet do not know that they are part of the wall that separates all of us from it.

When it comes to spending and debt; wars are the highest cost. You cannot be pro liberty and pro war at the same time.

You cannot say that you believe in liberty and freedom of choice and be against legalizing drugs.

You cannot be for fiscal and personal responsibility and argue for different forms of medicare/Medicaid and social security.

It is up to individuals to make their own choices in life. If they make bad choices; they should pay the consequences. It is not up to me, you or big brother government to enforce our opinions on others. I do not want the DEA breaking down my door and shooting my dog because they got the wrong house on some stupid drug raid. I do not want my friends killed in some foreign land so that corrupt politicians can make a profit on an out dated fossil fuel. I do not want my wife grouped at an airport so that a corrupt company can make money on cancer giving body scanners. I want to be left the hell alone so that I can live my life as I see fit in my own way. That is what I thought this country was about. But apparently I was wrong. And the upsetting part is that so many people are so plugged into the system that they’ll even fight for bad parts of it, just so that other parts can’t gain control. But you know what? When you fight for evil; evil prospers. You cannot win in a rigged game.

When I first moved here I thought this country had avoided the pitfall of socialism and that freedom was flourishing. Unfortunately I found out that both Britain and America have both thrust themselves headlong down the path of totalitarianism. What a tragedy for all the brave men and women, for all the families of those who died in the last world war who thought they were fighting to preserve freedom and democracy in the world. Well to be fair, perhaps they did, at least for a few decades. But now, things are about as bad as they’ve ever been.

I like my father-in-laws concept (adapted from Nietzsche) about the overman. He calls himself the overman warrior. It means that he has become more than man, better than man if you will, and is a warrior for advancement past the usual pitfalls of life. The overman goes beyond petty emotions and is strong where others are weak. The overman sees through evil and does what is right no matter how great the adversaries.

At the young age of 17 Rich’s first book ‘the symposium of justice’ instilled a lot of great ideals in me. After having read his book, he suggested I read ‘the hero with a thousand faces’ by Joseph Campbell. The top three books that changed my life are Robert Kayosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad, Rich Hoffman’s ‘Symposium of Justice’ and Joseph Campbell’s ‘Hero with a thousand faces’. Between these three books during my teenage years, and some other great books since, I have been on a very different path than most. When you add that into having a great wife and having moved to a different country; it all adds up to a very different and very clear set of viewpoints on the world.

I absolutely adore Charlie Chaplin’s speech at the end of ‘the great dictator’. Every single time I watch his speech on YouTube I get a little choked up. How touching and how fitting it is for today’s global society, and how sad it is that it wasn’t paid attention to before all the killing of World War II.

“we don’t want to hate and despise one another…in this world there is room for everyone..” What a wonderful and touching thing to say.

I love capitalism, and when I say that I mean true lassie-fair capitalism. In its raw form it has brought the world from mud huts to skyscrapers, and from sweaty brick homes to air conditioned mansions. In its true form capitalism helps everyone.

I think the general population of the USA is being sold down the river in this election, in the same way they have been for the last few decades. It’s like the south park episode with the douche and the turd. Which crap do you want to vote for most?

I’m happy to report though, that there is a huge groundswell for liberty in this country. I love it’s history. People here have such an individualist attitude. Most people do not want to be told what to do.

There is a third option in this presidential race, and I am proud to say that I support it. I support it in the same way that the founding fathers supported and gave birth to the constitution.

I will help defend this fragile old document, because it is the most important thing worth saving in this country.

All the other subjects being talked about during the debates are just distractions to get you sold down the river.

The debates: wasn’t Obama the lesser of two evils last time?

In the debates tonight, Gary Johnson will not be allowed to debate, but yet all of his supporters are being told that if we do not support Romney, Obama will get back in. If we are a large enough crowd to swing the vote, then why are we not allowed to be represented in the debates? Does this not tell you something? That a large majority is completely ignored and shutdown, and yet is told they must vote for another candidate, or they’ll split the vote?

So which is it? If we are large enough to swing the vote, why can we not have our presidential contender in the debates?

If you are republican; does Romney actually support your views and principles? And if not; will you stand with us, or against us? Since the libertarians represent most republican views and more, why do you not separate yourself from this broken two party system which does not represent you?

Wasn’t Obama the lesser of two evils the first time around?

Obama was supposed to bring the troops home and close Guantanamo Bay. This resonated with many voters.

McCain wanted to continue Bush’s policies, which many people didn’t want. Many people were tired of all the wars and endless bailouts and big government spending.

Judging by his record as governor of Massachusetts; Mitt Romney appears to be no different than Obama or Bush, and would continue all the same evil constitution crushing policies and massive government spending of his predecessors.

Why are we not supporting men of conviction instead? Why are we not supporting men with proven records of keeping their word and keeping the government in check?

Why are we pleading to candidates who act like feudal lords? Why are we choosing ‘the lesser of two evils’ in a vain effort to slow down evil, rather than end it?

When we look to presidents as being all powerful, we look to the main challenger and we ask them to save us. It’s like saying “Oh lord Romney, will you save us from the wrath of King Obama? Will you be good to your loyal subjects? Will you be a better ruler of the masses?” This is a tragic way to go about voting for ‘change’ in any country.

Why don’t we stand on our own two feet and vote on principle instead?

Why are we allowing ourselves to be guided by fears instead of convictions? Why are we not acting as the founding fathers did?

As far as electing president; Gary Johnson is our only real hope to make a difference in this election, and he should be allowed to debate the other two contenders.

Presidential Debate 2012: Gary Johnson Support Grows, Sponsors Pull Out to Protest Exclusion of Libertarians

Both President Barack Obama and Republican presidential nominee are gearing up for their first presidential debate showdown in Denver on Wednesday, but there is one man who will not be participating in the prime-time television debate: libertarian candidate Gary Johnson. That decision has angered some Gary Johnson supporters so much that at least two of the original sponsors of the 2012 presidential debates have decided to pull their support.

Philips Electronics and the women’s organization YWCA have dropped their sponsorship, after they got flooded with letters from Gary Johnson supporters and the watchdog groups Open Debates and Help the Comission. According to US News, the non-profit which runs the presidential debates, the Commission on Presidential Debates, relies heavily on sponsors, so the decision by Philips Electronics and YWCA is likely to make a real impact.

In it announcement of its withdrawal of support, Philips wrote that it is concerned the commission’s work “may appear to support bi-partisan” instead of “non-partisan” politics. That comes as a major victory to Johnson supporters and Open Debate, who have been protesting the debates for months.

The commission had originally stated that Johnson could be included in the debates, but he ultimately failed to garner the 15 percent support of the national electorate in order to be featured. Although Johnson filed a lawsuit over being excluded, he still does not have enough support to meet the commission’s criteria. Since the commission was created in 1987, only at the 1992 debate, when Ross Perot appeared alongside George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, has a third-party candidate appeared on stage at a debate.

The Gary Johnson campaign is not expected to make in-roads in its legal challenge to being excluded, so libertarian supporters may seek to pressure more sponsors to boycott and pull their support as a way to express their disapproval with the debate commission.

3 out of 10 sponsors of the debates have already pulled out their funding. The paradigm shift is happening. People are waking up. They realize this election is a fraud. There is a real chance that Gary Johnson and the libertarians could win big in this election, and the media is terrified that the general populace will find out. Voting for one candidate to prevent another from winning is a terrible strategy and will only end in tragedy.

Will you be a part of the movement which forever changes the political landscape for the better? Or will you be part of the tired old broken tradition of voting for the lesser of two evils? Will you vote for more of the same under a different banner, or will you be brave enough to make a difference? The future is up to you, one by one, we will make a difference.

Thoughts on the meaning of life

“life is without meaning, you bring the meaning to it” – Joseph Campbell

Well it’s been a hectic past couple of weeks. I wrote about the previous week in my last article, and this past week has been busy too, with end of quarter at work, and with a wedding on Saturday.

I got a chance to relax on Sunday and sit in the hot-tub at my in-laws house. While I was allowing the warm water to relax my muscles and the jets to massage the stress away, I was thinking about the past few weeks and about the future.

The reason I get into politics, is because I can see an erosion of freedom and responsibility in daily life. It is because of this that I argue my points across and try to make sense of it all.

When I take part in life, particularly when I take pictures of families at weddings, I’m not thinking about all the silly politics that goes on. I’m thinking of the meaning of life, and all the family and friends who are supporting the new couple. I’m thinking about how happy everyone is, and how to capture their smiles in the most natural way possible without them even realizing it.

I found out this morning that the father of the bride of one of our previous weddings, died on Saturday, around the same time that we were taking pictures of a newly wed couple and their families dancing and having fun. It is with bitter irony that you realize how fragile life is, and that while one family is singing and dancing, another is going through the terrible pain of loss.

This is the second time this year that a close relative of a newly wed couple has died shortly after us taking the last pictures of them. Its a haunting feeling to know that you took the last ever picture of them alive. The comforting aspect is that you know that you captured a memory of them for the family to treasure even long after they are gone.

With the birth of my second nephew, and the thoughts of starting a family of my own, I return to the political spectrum and wonder how much of a future there will be in the world without peace.

If the death of one person can upset so many people, how would a huge war make you feel? When you realize that many thousands of people die in conflict each year.

If we cannot balance a budget or restrict government growth, if we cannot stop the lobbyists and the corrupt politicians from sending our young men out to war, and continue to restrict growth through legislation. Then how much of a future will there be, not just for us, but for the world?

A friend sent me an email this morning of the space shuttle discovery. It shows the cockpit, and all the instruments. After many conversations with him about Star Trek and space travel, it seems as if we are going backwards as a civilization. Why are we not out there traveling the solar system? Why are we constantly bombing each other and starting wars? Why do we have a ‘war on drugs’? Why can’t we just leave each other alone, and only punish those who actually literally harm others?

Why do we feel the need to use the government as a way to redistribute wealth? Why do we feel the need to use the government to create benefit programs, when charities are perfectly capable of taking care of those in need?

Life has no meaning unless you bring meaning to it. When you are born, you are an empty vessel. It is up to your parents to teach you how to walk and talk. After that, it is up to you to continue the learning process. It is up to you to advance yourself. It is up to you not to hold yourself back. You must do what you feel is right. You must hold yourself to your own highest moral standards.

Life moves forward when you cherish it, and advance yourself through productive means. When you embrace knowledge and creativity, when you learn all that you can, and work toward your goals. You can and will achieve anything.

When you reject the old, the useless, the warn out policies of the past, and embrace new ideas built upon the learning of successes throughout the world, then you will have achieved a bright new future in which anything is possible.

I reject the two party system in politics because it is broken and it does not work. From an outside perspective, and can say they are almost identical.

I reject war because it is a racket. I am perfectly capable of defending myself.

I embrace the US constitution, because it is the most well written document to protect and embrace freedoms that the world has ever seen.

I embrace liberty and free markets because they allow the individual to create whatever he or she desires, and then sell that product to others to enhance their own lives.

I embrace value, true value, because if you value your life, the lives of others, the value of the inventions created by men of the mind.

I embrace new technologies. These new technologies were invented, and without them, we would still live in caves and would not have  a civilization to begin with.

I embrace nature, because nature is abundant, and everything erupts forth from it.

I embrace respect. Because without it, fights ensue, and ideas get squashed. It is not the better idea that succeeds in battle, but the person with the largest hammer. Battles are necessary from time to time, but logic should always be supported by fact, and then brought forward as the successor.

Life has meaning when you bring meaning to it. What is the meaning of your life? What have you done today? What have you done to enhance and enrich your own life? And in turn, what have you done to enhance and enrich the lives of those around you?

Your hard work pays off when you keep going despite bumps in the road. Sometimes you have to stop and alter your course slightly, or even go off road, but if you stay on track you will get to your destination.

When was the last time you looked up at the stars? Can you imagine a better future?

What did you do to make your life happy today?

Are you living a happy life?

We live for our own happiness. If we are not happy, or able to find contentment, then our lives are wasted. You only get one shot at life. So make it a good one.

Tail of the Dragon; The beast released

Today is the day!

Tail of the Dragon has finally been released!

I already wrote a review of the book a few weeks ago. I got a chance to read an early copy of it since my father-in-law is the author who wrote it.

Rich Hoffman and I have a lot in common. I met his daughter when we were both very young. Over the years he has been a mentor to me, and I have learned a great deal about philosophy and mythology from him.

Over the years Brooke and I have supported him in all his endeavors and we have worked on various different video shoots together. A couple of weeks ago we designed a T-shirt for him to promote the book. In a couple of weeks these T-shirts will become available to anyone who wishes to buy one, so stay tuned!

Rich has a very good way of sifting through the stagnation of society and cutting straight to the chase. His viewpoints on the freedom of man and of government intrusion are very similar to my own. I came from a different upbringing and I don’t see eye to eye with him on everything that he thinks, but using critical thinking, I understand almost everything he says and does.

Our current government has become too encroaching on our lives and has been using us as cash cows for not only taxes but also for petty fines in the form of speeding tickets. This is something that greatly irks the both of us, and something which ‘Rick’ fights in ‘Tail of the Dragon’

Are you tired of the cops pulling you over for silly reasons? Are you tired of getting speeding tickets when you pose no real danger to other drivers? Are you tired of the government getting its grubby hands all over your hard earned money?

If you’re tired of the government telling you what to do and what not to do, and clamping down on those who rebel. Then I suggest you order it online!

I don’t just say that because I am related to the author, I genuinely mean it. When I read the original manuscript, I literally couldn’t put it down. I was blazing from page to page just to see what happens.

With many blurbs from various well known people, from the co-author of ‘A Patriots Guide to American History’ to ‘Doc Thompson’ you can be sure that this book is no fluke.

You will enjoy ‘Tail of the Dragon’ it is a non-stop heart racing chase around the Smoky Mountains, with death defying driving against a tyrannical government.

I suggest you go out and buy yourself a copy today!

Mitt Romney

I keep hearing people talk about Obama, and how we must elect Mitt Romney to beat him. But how much do you really know about the republican candidate?

Strange But True: Mitt Romney Spent The Vietnam War In A French Palace

I thought that once Ron Paul was rejected by the establishment GOP, that I would go silently into the night and let everyone have their say and their vote between ‘the lesser of two evils’ without debating why I don’t like either of them. I thought that I would keep the peace and let bygones be bygones. But the way the RNC treated Ron Paul and his delegates was a disgrace to democracy and to the representation of the nation.

Death Of Democracy: GOP Party Bosses Seize Complete Control Of Selecting Candidates

This path of the lesser of two evils has done the very thing it was intended to; it brought about evil.

With bipartisan support, this new system of corruption has embedded itself on the American psyche, and we believe we are supposed to continue to play their silly games, while giving them unbridled power, and giving up our liberties.

Mitt Romney’s voting record is similar to Obama’s, and they agree on almost everything:

Mitt Romney is supposed to have been an entrepreneur and a job creator, but his legacy shows that his firm is an asset stripping company which ships jobs over seas.

Mitt Romney dodged the draft, while encouraging others to fight instead. His company looted and pillaged other companies that provided good jobs for people. And now we move forward to his governorship; in which he massively increased the state debt, and hiked fees across the board. During his governorship Massachusetts dropped to 47th in the nation for job creation.

So the idea that Mitt Romney is somehow going to save us from Obama is completely mis-founded. If you think that the media is bias now; think about a future with ‘Clear Channel’, which is owned by ‘Bain Capital’ cheer-leading his presidency at every turn, even when he continues the same atrocities of the Bush/Obama administrations.

So I’m asking you to think outside the box, and take a good long hard look at the candidate that you’ll be voting for.

Remember, if you decide to vote for the lesser of two evils; that makes you evil too.

The modern conservative party has been infiltrated by the neo-cons and their only agenda is power. The display at the RNC should give you shivers. I thought Nancy Pelosi was bad, but when I watched John Boehner blatantly ignore the objections in the crowd, I knew that he was no better. He, like so many other of the republicans at the RNC talk the talk, but they do not walk the walk, and that is simply not good enough.

As a Life Long Republican, I Will Not Vote For Romney.

Brandon Raub update

I’ve been getting a lot of hits over the last couple of days for Brandon Raub, so I made a quick post and put some links on here for you to find out more information. Let’s keep him on the radar and expose what’s going on!

Here is the link for the Facebook Group ‘Free Brandon Raub’:

I hope the links I provided help. It is important that we stand by those who speak out for our freedoms.

If we do not hold the government’s feet to the fire, our freedoms will continue to be diminished. We must wake up and expose the facts.

Stand up when you see injustice. Politicians and those in power do not like it when fingers are pointed at them.

So keep up the fight for everyone’s individual liberty and the right to express it!

UPDATE:

Here are a couple extra links I found:

This one talks about how most people are completely unaware of what happened last week, and how the media has not said a word about it:

Silencing Dissent and Tyranny in America

This morning I read two disturbing articles about clamping down on freedom of speech. These articles speak for themselves.

The first one is by Conservative Daily News, and talks about Brandon Ruab, who is a military veteran, and who has just been ‘detained’ indefinitely, for questioning the government on his Facebook page:

http://www.conservativedailynews.com/2012/08/brandon-raub-victim-of-tyranny-in-america/

The second one is by Activist Post, and is about silencing dissent. The article explores what is going on right now regarding protesters, and the government’s clamping down on freedom of speech and expression:

http://www.activistpost.com/2012/08/silencing-dissent-in-america.html

It is of vital importance that you become aware of what is going on. Even this conservative news site explains that the media has dropped the ball:

A double standard does exist and the lame stream media, including FOX News Network and much of conservative talk radio, is complicit. Not only do the lame streams ignore the violations of the Constitution going on every day, they actually cheer lead for those committing the violations.  Our liberty, our Republic of the United States of America, is teetering on the edge of extinction and very few in any media seem to have the courage to really speak boldly about what is happening.  Mark Levin and Michael Savage have been rather vocal but most of the”biggies” sidestep this issue of such bold tyranny in all branches of government.

Carrying the water on the most serious issues of liberty is left to those of us who have no national voice and lack the wealth many media darlings protect with their silence.

And the Activist Post explains just how far the government will go clamp down on us.

Freedom in America is endangered. Bipartisan complicity plans destroying it altogether.

America is on a fast track toward tyranny and ruin. Police state laws threaten everyone.

Increasingly, dissent is marginalized. It’s not tolerated. Resistance is called dangerous to National Security.

Federal authorities target activists. So do militarized local police. No-holds-barred tactics are employed.

We must learn what is going on, and we must tell others.

Do not give in to fear, stand up, speak out, click on these articles and share them with your friends, your co-workers, anyone who will listen. Even if it scares you to do so, you must make a stand, you must say ‘no’ to tyranny. If you do not stand up, the fear tactics currently being used will take an even stronger hold and the culprits will know that they have won.

This is the land of the free and the home of the brave, but only so long as people stand up and protect that right. Bravery does not mean lack of fear, it means overcoming that fear and doing what is right anyway. Wake up, step up, and make your stand. Make your voice heard, and spread the message through this great torrent of information we call the internet. The mainstream media has let us down, but we the people are the mainstream, so lets get the word out and reclaim the freedom that is rightfully ours.

Turn off your TV

Have you ever watched the movie ‘They Live’?

My wife and I cancelled our cable service over six months ago now, and what a joy it has been. We still watch certain shows and movies on Netflix, but it was such a relief to get away from the ‘regularly scheduled programming’ (pun intended) especially from the news channels, which are bias beyond belief.

I’m lucky, I come from another developed nation that speaks the same language, and is similar in almost every way to this one. Having been raised in a similar yet different enviornment, it wasn’t hard for me to get disconnected with the ‘mainstream’ since I could sense something was out of place already, having grown up under a different culture.

When I was in school in the UK, I was taught critical thinking. When we learned about journalism in English class, we were taught not to be bias, but to judge the information presented from a neutral point of view.

The US media is so bais that it no longer takes a lesson in real journalism to see it. All you have to do is switch off the television and look up some articles online, to see true journalism in effect. When you turn the TV back on, all you see is ‘Liberal this’ and ‘Conservative that’ and you see talking heads on news channels, where they rarely go outside the studio. You see panels of people talking about a subject, but not actually investigating it, or going out in the field. All American news channels take a sound bite, or a clip, or hearsay, and expand it for many minutes out of the hour with a heated discussion about the supposed subject. It’s like watching a gang of high school teenagers discuss which brand has the worst pair of tennis shoes.

Recently I read this article that explains that only 20% of Americans trust the media anymore:

A recent Gallup poll shows that an all time low of on only 20% of the public trusts the news as citizen journalism continues to rise.

Bias and bungled reporting on US news networks are behind plummeting audience numbers, according to the Gallup Poll.

As far as the 20% who do still trust the news I would suppose they simply either don’t have internet access or when they go online the don’t dare stray to far from sites owned by the corporations that own the corporate media.

For anyone who happens to land here that still believes the news is trustworthy these will instantly make you non-believers as well: Caught: Staged CNN Syria Interviews Faked By Activist Danny and Wag The Dog – Media Caught Faking Syria News Stories.

Of course that isn’t even the tip of the iceberg.

RT reports on the Gallup Poll and the continual decline of the corporate media in the video below which also looks at a cutting-edge project that’s encouraging ordinary Americans to drive our country’s news agenda instead.

I challenge you to turn your TV off, and start doing some of your own research outside of the Mainstream Media.

My favorite site to date is www.whatreallyhappened.com

Good luck, and I hope you start seeing what I, and many others are seeing out there right now, that ‘they live’ and that we are no longer informed properly by the media on any channel, and that it is up to us to report the real news out there.

Oh, and coincidentally, does anyone else think that Mitt Romney looks remarkably like one of the aliens in the movie?

The future is built today

In the front office where I work, we have a large framed poster of a construction site. On the poster it reads ‘the future is built today’ and under the caption it says ‘we believe great results come from careful planning. That ambitious goals are powered by initiative and productivity. And the foundation of achievement lies in the will to be the best.’

Beside that poster is a laminated sheet of paper, that has many copies that can be seen throughout the warehouse. It is a document to inspire everyone to work together, and it reads ‘words to live by’: Teamwork, communication, planning, flexibility, accountability, long range view, flow, training, discipline, think out of the box.

These words are aimed to help mold the company toward a common goal of success.

Both the poster and the laminated message, are true in everything we do. Whether it be our work, our family, or our government. If we set our sights on tomorrow and work toward it, we will achieve it. But only if we stick to certain rules along the way.

It is obvious that the government does not have ‘long range view’ in mind. It is not ‘flexible’ when it comes to cutting budgets and limiting spending, it completely lacks ‘discipline’, it certainly does not ‘think out of the box’. Government does not ‘plan’, ‘communicate’ or work well as a ‘team’, the ‘flow’ is often horrible, and every person in government could really do with some better ‘training’.

These words from Ronald Reagan are as true today as they were in 1964:

Personally, I want to reign in government, to restore the Constitution, and be free to pursue my life in the way that I see fit.

I want to grow old and wise, I want to grow wealthy and be generous. I want to achieve anything that I can set my mind to. I do not want machine men with their ‘agendas’ getting in my way. I will help as many others as I can along the way, but I will never carry capable people on my back. Any form of collectivism, from Stalin’s communism to Hitler’s fascism, and all the socialism and social engineering in-between, must be destroyed. All the silly ideas and government programs must be eliminated, or else our lives will be eliminated by the truncheon of totalitarian government, with its ever growing fingers in all our pies.

I want to create my own happy future, free of the ever increasing burden of government. When societies are free, the world around them becomes a beautiful place, since they are able to work and create whatever their dreams desire.

The future is built today because we create it in each moment that we breathe. Whether we have government currently breathing down our neck or not, we can at least lay down the foundation of freedom, to help lift us up out of the clouds of collectivism tomorrow.

The future is in each individuals hands, and your future starts by building it brick by brick today.
