Night gardening

Last weekend my wife and I drove down to the local tree farm ‘Green Acres‘ to see what was available and if they had any discounts for the off-season. Sure enough, they had a 40% sale on all their trees. We looked at the ones we were interested in, and promised to return once we had figured out how many we needed. We spent the rest of the day measuring out our yard and all the permanent fixtures in it, including the sheds, trees, concrete pathways and leech lines. We drew a to-scale diagram of everything on our property and figured out just what we needed to add additional privacy to our little piece of earth.

On Sunday, we returned to the tree farm and placed an order for nine trees, including six arborvitaes, two white pines, and a fat albert. Since they were already booked, they couldn’t deliver them that day, but promised to deliver first thing the next day. They gave us some little flags to place in the yard, and told us they would place the trees by them. Sure enough the next day when I was on break at work, my wife had sent me a text message to say they had arrived right before she left for work, and that the trees looked fantastic. I checked the weather and saw that the weather was going to plummet that night and snow was forecast. I stayed late anyway, completing additional projects, and got home right as it got dark. Having thought ahead the day before, I had pre-dug the holes for the trees where the flags were placed.

I pulled into the garage, set my belongings on the table and ate a quick dinner with my wife. We found the headlights from our camping gear and I threw on some camo pants and a rain jacket, and set to work lowering the trees, straightening them up, and burying them in the ground while my wife judged how straight they were.

The temperature was plummeting, but with just a thermal undershirt and a jacket over top, I was sweating. I wanted to get all nine trees into the ground and firmly packed in before the temperature dropped below zero. It was tiring work, but in just under three hours I had all nine trees firmly packed into the ground, just as the first snow flakes began to fall. We gave them a couple buckets worth of water each and I stumbled into the  house to take a hot shower before going to bed.

I woke up in the morning, stiff and sore, but elated to see what looked like Christmas outside. There was a light dusting of snow covering our newly planted trees, and the yard looked amazing.

Some people wonder how my wife and I have such an amazing life. It’s simple really, we go to extraordinary lengths to create it. We don’t allow life to happen to us. We create it with every step we take. In this case, we bought evergreen trees in an off season to get a deep discount, and I buried them in the dark after a long shift at work just to get them ready before the snow fell. If you want an extraordinary life, you have to do extraordinary things.

I don’t want weak conservatives

Britain is failing. It’s empire is gone, and the country is mired in socialism.

weak 7

My mother received a letter from my grandmother a few days ago and in it she wrote that “everyone is starting to think you made the right decision moving to America. Energy prices and the cost of living has gone up so much here, and everyone is struggling to get by”

weak 14

My grandparents are now well into their 70’s, they grew up during the second world war, and witnessed the bombing of Canterbury during the blitz. During their lifetimes they have witnessed their country bombed and broken, only to be ravaged by socialism during times of peace. When they were my age Britain still had an empire, but one country after another they left the empire as Britain went deeper into debt to pay its war bills, and to fund its misguided socialized industries. By the 1970’s when they had grown children of their own, Britain was in deep decline.

weak 8

By the time I was born in 1987, Britain was beginning to raise the lion’s roar once more. Margaret Thatcher was in power, and many of the failing socialized industries had been privatized to great success. For eighteen golden years Britain was swinging back with a fury. The Thatcher and Major conservative governments had well and truly put Britain back on track, and had its finances well in order.

weak 1

Then came the Labour years. Tony Blair promised change, he sought to put right the wrongs of conservatism, and give everyone a fair chance. It all sounded great, and my parents were among those who voted for him. My grandparents now had a string of grandchildren, and the country was still doing very well, despite now having given up Hong Kong; it’s last truly valuable territory.

weak 4

For those who don’t know; the Labour party is socialist. During the thirteen Blair and Brown years, hundreds of bans came into effect, and taxes were raised. Gas became ever more expensive, and house prices shot through the roof. During Gordon Brown’s short tenure, EU treaties were signed and the economy crashed. Red Ed Milliband, introduced ‘green taxes’ and energy prices soared.

weak 13

Now there is a coalition between the liberal democrats and the conservatives, and things are not much better. The problem is that the conservatives are not conservative enough. David Cameron is no Margaret Thatcher; not even close.

weak 3

They waffle on important issues, and don’t stick up for conservative principles when challenged. David Cameron refers to himself as a ‘liberal conservative’ which is why the country continues to have problems.

weak 15

The US has problems with Mexicans crossing the boarder. Britain has problems with Polish immigrants legally flooding the country due to EU regulations. The issues that Margaret Thatcher warned the country about in the 1980’s have become reality. Britain has lost its sovereignty, and it has no leaders with enough back bone to make a difference.

weak 6

To make matters worse, socialist ideals have been so thoroughly implanted into the education system that even my best friend, who attended Cambridge, and whose parents are conservative, now believes that global warming is real, the National Health Service is great, that Americans should have this ‘free healthcare’ and that guns should be banned. You can imagine how upset I was to hear him say all that.

weak 2

So Britain is now swinging back toward decline. And my grandparents have lived to see their grandchildren struggle to find places to live, while two of their grandchildren have sought a better life in America, where their daughter and her husband now join them.

As for living here in the US. I’ve now been a citizen for almost two years. It feels longer. I attend Tea Party meetings, and study the constitution. I’m more radical than most rednecks, at least as far as the liberals are concerned.

weak 12

It upset many of my conservative friends deeply when I refused to vote for Romney last year during my first election. The reason I give is fairly simple. I don’t want weak conservatives. I didn’t think Romney gave enough for me to vote for. The same way that John McCain has in recent months shown that he is a progressive liberal at heart.

I don’t want this country to go down the same way Britain has. I don’t want Common Core, I don’t want Agenda 21. I don’t want the Small Arms ban. I don’t want any of this socialist crap which has all but poisoned and destroyed my once great homeland.

weak 5

I often think about moving back to Britain, about owning a little cottage somewhere in the countryside, and walking my kids down to the local school. I know my wife would love them to have little English accents. But that is just a pipe dream. With as hard as I work, with all that I do, I could not even give them that, because the country is now drowning in socialism. I wouldn’t be able to afford even a small house with average house prices being 173,000 pounds ($250,000) and I wouldn’t want to send them to schools that teach about global warming and the European Union.

weak 11

I don’t even want to send my kids to American schools, for the same reasons. But I can and do own a house. Just this weekend my wife and I bought some more trees for our property. We will make our house a haven for learning and creativity. Our Nieces, Nephews and children of our own will have a place where they can learn true history, true economics, and have a place to express themselves without the prying eyes of the outside world.

weak 9

I want to live in a place like this. I will build a place like this, and I will vote for true conservatives, for true libertarians, for those who truly understand the free market, who understand true freedom. I will not settle. Because there are destroyers out there, and they work at different paces, but they are eating up the world, and I refuse to vote for any of them.

I will build my own safe haven, I will provide the best future I can for my kids, I will remember what has happened to Britain, and I will not let it happen here. I will only vote for politicians who stand on principle, who stand up for the silent majority, who stand up for individual rights, who understand and defend the constitution. I want strong leaders who aren’t afraid to stand up and fight, even if it means doing so on their own. I want leaders who are willing to stand up and filibuster for hours if necessary to make a point, to be heard, to make sure that this nation doesn’t go down without a fight. The more we vote in true conservatives, true libertarians, true constitutionalists, the better off this country will be, and perhaps it can continue to shine as the bright beacon of hope for the world.

weak 10

The Tea Party is winning

Contrary to what the mainstream media would have you believe, the Tea Party is not only alive and well, but is actually winning elections!

On Tuesday the West Chester Tea Party backed candidate Mark Welch became the newest trustee for the township. He now joins George Lang as the second Tea Party backed candidate, right in House speaker John Boehner’s back yard. The Tea Party now has a majority vote in the Township, and this will send shock waves throughout the republican establishment.

The days of RINO republicans are over. The Tea Parties are putting more and more pressure on local and state candidates, and are even beginning to sweep through Washington with candidates such as Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.

tea party 2

Despite what the mainstream media would have you believe, these Tea Parties are thriving, and are pushing issues on local ballots to dramatically change this nation back to the way it should be; free and independent.

Fake conservatives on local radio stations who use the progressive and derogatory liberal term ‘tea bagger’ to attack local freedom activists are beginning to lose their voices to a vacuum, and eventually they will be drowned out completely. Gone are the times of progressive republicans and weak flip flop principles. The earth is moving beneath the republican establishment, and the more they point fingers, the more they call us ‘wacko birds’ and ‘dangerous’ the more you know that we’re having an effect on them.

tea party 1

If you want to learn more about your local Tea Party, just get on Google or Facebook and search for them, and with any luck, you’ll be able to stop by their next local event.

America’s civil war: Butler county election results

The election results for Butler County were mixed; some good, some bad. The biggest issue for myself was the Lakota Levy; which unfortunately narrowly passed by less than 1% of the vote. It took only 240 people to tip the scales in favor of outright extortion. The good news is that Fairfield defeated the bond, even if it was by a paltry 40 votes. Some other levies were passed in the county, while West Chester finally kicked out its most progressive trustee and replaced her with Tea Party backed Mark Welch.

http://results.butlercountyelections.org/results.shtml

The issues in Butler County are mirrored throughout the US, while there were many small victories across the country, there were losses also. Virginia went completely blue, while New Jersey got to pick between a progressive democrat who looks like Nancy Pelosi, and a progressive republican who looks like Jabba the Hut. Great choices there New Jersey, its no wonder all your businesses are moving out here!.

civil 2

For those like myself, who are bitterly disappointed in having to fork out an extra $30+ a month for the idiotic new tax levy, I will say this: there is a silver lining. Like I said, West Chester will now be able to rein in its bills, lower its taxes, and put dash-cams in police cruisers in order to hold the cops to a new level of accountability. While Liberty and West Chester Townships narrowly missed defeating a tax levy, Fairfield was able to narrowly defeat one. We truly are in a civil war. The country is deeply divided along both sides. But we are winning. Remember that the American War of Independence was not won through battles, but perseverance. Did we really think we could cure 100 years of progressivism in one election cycle? No, this is going to take quite some time, but we are wearing away at the machine, and groups such as the Tea Party are having a massive effect on local elections. The West Chester Tea Party backed Mark Welch all the way, and today he kicks out a progressive who has been holding the township back for years.

civil 3

It is disappointing that seniors and those on fixed incomes will have to struggle to find new ways to foot this idiotic tax bill, it is disappointing that teenagers will have less part time work available because local business owners have to lay off workers to pay for this useless tax levy. But all this goes to show that while we are wearing away at the machine, it is time to fight back instead of just defending ourselves all the time. This was the 4th levy attempt, and it only passed by 240 votes! It took only a small band of misguided fools to kick this stupid levy through. So it is time for us to kick the ball back down the field. It’s time to kick the unions where it hurts; we need to push for the bill for a right to work state. we need to push for tax reduction bills at the local level. We must stand up and fight!

civil 5

The road is long ahead, but we have the founders and their principles to light the way. It’s going to take a lot more effort on the ground level, and many more of us will have to get our hands dirty and get the word out. Our future is out there, we can change the country for the better, no matter how many useless idiots stand in the way, the founding fathers stood up against similar odds, so let no progressive stand in your way. While there will be more battles that we’ll lose, we will win this war!

civil 1

Vote NO lakota

Another year, another levy attempt. When will these union types get it? We don’t want another unnecessary tax increase!

Did you know that over half your property taxes already go to our bloated school system? The Lakota school district already boasts some of the nicest facilities on the planet, and yet they still demand more money!

lakota 2

And what for? Security? Technology? The schools already have all the technology they need. If they want more, why not just have a fundraiser instead of wasting money on levy campaigns and extorting the residents of Liberty and West Chester Townships?

As for the security. Even if we were stupid enough to post armed guards in the schools, which would make the schools feel more like prisons, why not just let some of the teachers carry concealed weapons? The general public is allowed to carry, so why not the teachers? If we want to avoid a Sandy Hook incident, why not allow the teachers to be the deterrents? The kids wouldn’t even know they had guns. A dozen silently armed teachers is a far better deterrent and far cheaper way to protect school children than a single silly security guard.

Back to the cost; we spend thousands of dollars every year per household for these schools, a number far too great to maintain. We already have many businesses moving into the area, but this number will slow if we don’t rein in these rouge union supported levy addicts.

mouth 4

Just take a look at Fairfeild; another levy attempt! After the last one only passed a year ago! Look at Forest Fair Mall (or whatever they call it this month!) You want to know why businesses are leaving? The taxes are too high! Year after year these levies are passed and the businesses have had too much. Even Bass Pro, the anchor store, is moving to West Chester in 2015, but do you think they’ll stay there for long if taxes continue to rise in the region? My bet is they’ll move even further away if we don’t rein in taxes in our region.

And what about the parents? We always hear that these levies are about the kids, which is a lie, but what about the heads of households? What happens when their mortgages go up and they struggle to make payments? What if a West Chester business leaves the community, or lays off workers to meet the demands of these tax raises? What happens when John Doe losses his job in West Chester, and can’t afford his mortgage in Liberty Township? His employer lays him off due to high taxes, and now he has no job, and higher taxes to pay on his own home. Have none of these levy addicts thought of this?

But its only $16 extra a month they scream! What an absolute lie. It’ll be $16 a month extra for a small fraction of the community, while the majority of home owners will be stuck with hundreds of dollars extra a year. All the while their pay checks are being diminished and they are struggling to hold on to their jobs, while the teachers get a cozy pay increase. Extortion indeed! What about the businesses? Most factories and distribution centers in the area are worth millions of dollars, this tax increase will cost them thousands of dollars extra a month, on top of already bloated taxes. That’s someones job!

It’s a fat lot of good bringing in extra unneeded money to the school district ‘for the kids’ if they no longer have a place to live because mommy or daddy got laid off.

Use your head, learn the facts, go to www.nolakotalevy.com and see for yourself that this latest tax levy is completely unnecessary, and remember to vote NO on Tuesday.

lakota 1

What the federal government and the lakota school district have in common

During the government shutdown we have seen national monuments and war memorials barricaded. We have seen national parks shut down, we have seen thugs enforcing these barricades while the President plays golf.

With the Lakota Levy attempts, we see cuts to school busing, to extra curricular activities including sports and after school clubs, all the while the teachers still get paid more on average than the rest of the community and all the while they get over three months off per year while many in the community are lucky to get 2-3 weeks off for the whole year.

All the teachers at these schools get large salaries and nice big pensions, while the rest of the community is lucky to hold onto their jobs at all.

Now with the latest levy attempt, we are asked to part with more of our hard earned money to fund ‘technology and security’. To which I can’t help but incredulously ask the question “what for?”

Why do we need more technology and more security, when our students already have state of the art learning centers?

Why do we need to be extorted for more of our hard earned money when the teachers are still getting their annual raises?

Why won’t the school district cut its costs and balance its budgets, instead of raising its debt ceiling and asking for ever more cash from the struggling tax payer?

You see the Lakota School District, among many others, is just like the federal government; corrupt to the core. They simply refuse to balance their budgets and make hard cuts where necessary.

common 1

Both the teachers of the Lakota district and the congressmen in Washington still get their pay, still get amazing benefits, still get tons of time off, still get to enjoy lives of relative luxury, all the while the tax payer is not only footing the bill, but is finding it harder and harder just to pay their own bills!

And what happens when we say NO to new taxes? Well, they get all upset and use the same old thuggish union tactics; they cut out all the nice convenient stuff and hit us where it hurts. The schools get rid of busing, the federal government shuts down the parks. The schools shut down after school clubs, the federal government barricades monuments. What a pathetic situation we find ourselves in when both our federal and local governments behave like spoiled children!

What exactly is it that these teachers, this school district is trying to teach our children anyway? That its OK to act like a spoiled brat when you don’t get your way? That you should be spiteful to others and cry and cry until you get what you want? Where is the sense of responsibility? Where are they teaching our kids to make tough choices and to do the right thing? Where are they teaching our kids about respect and reasoning?

I feel bad for my generation growing up in this ongoing recession, but I dread to think what it must be like for the school kids of today. We’ve got whiny brats in Washington, and whiny brats in the school district. What a sad state of affairs.

I truly hope there are at least enough grown ups in the Lakota School District next month to vote NO for this stupid levy, and start pushing for fiscal responsibility and to ask the school administrators to act like grown ups.

mouth 4

If you’re a responsible grown up, and want to get the facts and make some tough choices. You can find out more about the levy and why you should vote NO at www.nolakotalevy.com

Obama go home

Mr President, it is time for you to step down. Your actions over the last few weeks have shown the few remaining people of the United States who were still holding out that your intentions were good, that you have no good intentions at all.

Your campaign of pain on the American people is utterly despicable, and your continuing golf trips show just how out of touch you are.

go home 3

You know that you have committed impeachable offenses. You know your administration is rotten to the core. Whether you truly are a Marxist, or just a guy who thought his ideas were better than the last guy’s, no longer matters. Your presidency has become a miserable failure.

go home 6

You tried to provoke race riots with the Zimmerman trial. You tried to crash the stock market during the beginning of the government shutdown. You’ve spent huge sums of money (far more than it would have taken to keep them open) on barricading national monuments dedicated to our greatest citizens who fought and died for the country that we all live in.

go home 7go home 1

Your Obamacare has begun just as we said it would; as a complete and utter failure. You promised to cut spending and lower the national debt. You’ve done the opposite.

go home 2

Mr President, I don’t know what your goals are; whether its the socialization of the USA, the globalization of the world into a one world government, or perhaps you just do whatever your masters tell you to do. I don’t know. But what I do know is; your presidency has been a disaster. We’ve had the slowest ‘recovery’ in living memory, and jobs are scarce.

go home 5

If you want to retire with dignity, I suggest you formally resign from office, before impeachments begin.

go home 8

Now I’m sure you saw those protesters outside the White House yesterday, throwing barricades in from of the lawn. Those protesters are timid in comparison to those of your own party who will be lining the streets when the food stamp programs run out, or the stock market collapses. What will you do then? What happens when they take to the streets, and you have no more friends left?

go home 4

So we’re asking you now to step down and just go home. Wherever that may be. If you want to retire to Hawaii, Indonesia, or even Kenya. I don’t care. I don’t know where you’re truly from, so you should just choose a place to go back to. Just leave us all alone. Leave the American people to make up their own minds. Leave the constitution alone.

Mr Obama, please, just go home.

Is Obama preparing an attack on the American people?

In an unprecedented move this week, President Obama fired two of the nations top military chiefs.

PRESIDENT OBAMA FIRES HIGH RANKING NUCLEAR CHIEFS

While his administration continues to spend large sums of money blockading national monuments, and ‘inflicting as much pain as possible’ on the American people during the supposed ‘government shutdown’ he has been busy changing people around in the military.

Also this week Barack Obama’s approval rating has plummeted to 37%, which is the lowest George Bush Jr polled during his two terms in office. With three more years left until the end of his presidency. Is Barack Obama planning to stage a false flag attack on the American people to get them to unite behind him? Or is he planning on using his own private Army, the DHS with its billion rounds of hollow point ammunition to stage a conflict against the American people?

Another thing that happened recently is the signing on the UN small arms treaty. Is Obama planning on allowing the UN onto our soil to aid in the confiscation of our firearms? Is Barack Obama’s firing of top military officials an attempt to promote officers who are more in line with his statist ambitions?

All of this is very disturbing, especially from a president who is already hugely unpopular, who is already being called for impeachment, who is already defying the constitution, and who openly calls for pain on the american people so that he can get his disastrous healthcare bill funded despite resentment from an overwhelming majority of the American people.

Americans are already starting to openly rebel against the President and his draconian policies. The tearing down of his ‘barrycades’ earlier today is a clear indication that we the people will not be stopped, and that we are tired of his attempts to bury this nation.

obama attack 1 obama attack 2 obama attack 3 obama attack 4 obama attack 5 obama attack 6

So what is Obama preparing to do? Is he planning a false flag attack? Or a confiscation of our firearms; which would inevitably end up in civil war? What do you think?

Demonstrators dump barriers in front of the White House

This weekend civil disobedience was in full swing. Although the mainstream media either ignored it, or tried to say that it was a failure or a small protest, it was anything but that.

At approximately midday protesters took down the barriers at the Lincoln and WWII memorials and walked them over to the white house. Police in full riot gear stood between the protesters and the white house fence, before the protesters began shouting “shame on you” to the officers. The police then stepped aside allowing the protesters to dump the barriers in front of the white house gates in a triumphant show of civil disobedience against Obama’s campaign of pain during the government shutdown.

Day 3: Negative US Media Coverage Fails to Stop Constitutional Truckers and Veterans Moving on DC

1-Ride-for-the-Consitution-#T2SDA
21st Century Wire
 says…

131012-dct-190UPDATE: More DC Truckers along with many other vehicles have continued to pour into the nation’s capital today, as day three of Ride for the Constitution commences.

Convoy spokesman, Ernest “General” Lee (photo, left) was busy Saturday coordinating new incoming convoys.

From early Sunday morning, Lee reported that the number vehicles on the roads have been building. Lee stated, “We got flags flying, horns honking, rigs, trucks and other vehicles stretching 10 miles along interstate 495 in Maryland. I cannot see an end to it, everyone has their flashers on.”

“We’re running at 42mph, and these people in the other lane are riding alongside us. We’re sending a message.”

Lee has also led the truckers’ effort to join up with the thousands of US Veterans and their families who are also pouring into Washington DC this morning for demonstrations at both the World War II Memorial and the Iwo Jima Memorial.

“Right now we have a detachment of bobtail trucks carrying veterans going downtown to the WWII Memorial, and another detachment headed to the US Marine Iwo Jima Memorial. We’re surrounded by supporters of the vets.” said Lee.

#T2SDA_#T4VETS_WWII_Memorial_Vets_Truckers_ProtestFrom 8:00am EST, after a man with wire cutters cut through government-imposed barriers at the war monument, thousands of protesters (photo. left) and US Veteran supporters entered the World War II Memorial, with more pouring in. Demonstrators were joined at 9:30am EST by a mile long convoy of #T2SDA + #T4VETS big rig trucks, four-wheel drive and motor vehicles. Despite a blackout in US mainstream media coverage, independent U Stream live video feeds have been up documenting events on the ground there.

At 9:00am EST, Metropolitan police vehicles reported to be blocking streets in the immediate area around the WWII Memorial, but no reports of harassment of demonstrators by law enforcement as of that time.

According to one veteran on site, former US Marine Will Gonzalez, “Police are helping block the roads for us. They are definitely supporting us. There are at least a few hundred people walking from the WWII memorial towards the White House.”

At 11:00am EST, GMN live reported that hundreds of protesters headed for Washington DC’s Lincoln Memorial, torn down the government barriers, and began occupying the monument.

At 12:00pm EST, demonstrators took down the barriers from the both WWII and Lincoln Memorials, and carried them over the White House and dumped them in front of the White House gates. According to GMN reporter Will Gonzalez, “A group of police with masks and full riot gear moved between us and the White House, but after the crowd shouted ‘shame on you’, the police backed away”.

The corporate mainstream media have been working overtime all week – not to cover any facts on the ground – but to brand this weekend’s DC trucker protest as failure. From before the protest began on Friday, headlines appeared to be uncannily coordinated, and clearly designed to deflect support away from Ride for the Constitution’s convoys.

As is normally done when they band together to promote US involvement in illegal wars, most notably with the White House’s botched effort to launch a war in Syria, here’s how the corporate media cartel tried to dampen support for truckers’ constitutional effort: USA Today said, “Rain, not trucker protest, slows D.C.-area traffic“. FOX News said, “Dozens, not thousands, show up for DC trucker protest.” Reason.com said, “Trucker D.C. Beltway Shutdown Plan a Hoax“.Politico said, “Trucker Protest a Bust“.In probably the greatest example of mainstream media going out of it’s way to distract from the real DC trucker event, America’s alleged ‘paper of record’ devoted it’s only coverage of events to a planted, fake photo, which went viral online via Twitter. Yesterday afternoon, one of the Post’s dedicated core of jobsworth desktop journalists, Caitlin Dewey, published an article,”Viral photo from Beltway trucker protest actually from an event last May“. Sadly, this was all the Washington Post could manage in coverage – for an event happening in their own back garden.

The irony of course, is that it was the Washington Post itself, who helped made this very same planted photo go viral early on Friday when they featured the photo in question in their own Twitter news feed which ran alongside of their earlier DC traffic article mentioning truckers. Here the  screenshot, recorded on Friday Oct 11, at 12:39 EST:
#T2SDA_Twitter
There were other mild efforts over the weekend to cover events. Local NBC Washington affiliate WBIR was one of the only corporate media outlets who managed to make the effort to connect with Ride for the Constitution, sending a journalist to ride with a trucker on Saturday morning.

“Truckers protesting the actions of President Obama and Congress continue to slowly circle the Capital Beltway on Friday. They say they are fed up with what many of them consider an abuse of the Constitution.

WUSA9′s Bruce Leshan traveled with the convoy for a while. At noon, he reported that he was traveling approximately 2 miles per hour, with the traffic almost completely stopped…”

The filth of socialized medicine

As many of you know, I was born and raised in the UK. I have seen the NHS (National Health Service) indeed I was born in one of these glorious socialist hospitals.

As many of you also know, I absolutely and emphatically deplore anything socialist, including said healthcare system. As Ringo star once said ‘Everything the government touches turns to crap’ and this can be said of the healthcare system in Britain.

health 1

While the US system might not be perfect (and I draw it down to government interference to begin with) we can all agree that it has the best services to offer. The US outspends every other nation on the planet for healthcare, and it really does show in its services. We have more beds, more equipment and more staff.

Some of my friends and family in England will argue with me about this, saying that the US healthcare system is too expensive, and that we should have FREE healthcare like Britain does. It truly does grind my gears to hear them say this because they are all mostly very intelligent people and I love them dearly. On this particular issue though they are dead wrong. In fact, I would go as far to say; ignorance is bliss.

The UK healthcare system is a broken socialist nightmare, with long waiting lines for treatments in germ ridden hallways. While my friends and family claim that it’s free, and that everyone is covered, I have to point out ‘covered by what?’

In the UK, if you get injured; you get treated, in the US, if you get injured; you get treated. There’s not much difference, except that in the US if you don’t have health insurance you’ll get a large bill for the service. This doesn’t mean you won’t get treated, just that you’ll have to pay for it. There are systems set up to help you pay for this service. And while it can be a financial burden on your family, the choice for health coverage is your own, and there are plenty of services to help you pay for said treatment.

In the UK if you get cancer, you can wait weeks or even months for treatment; the difference between life and death. In the US, you can receive treatment immediately, with far better resources at hand to help combat the disease.

I remember a story my friend told me once about his grandfather; it was discovered that he had heart problems and urgently needed a quadruple heart bypass surgery. Without the surgery he was told he would have only 6 months left to live. He was put on a one year waiting list. The socialist system he had paid into his entire life had failed him in his hour of need. Luckily for him, his old friends all got together and set aside some money to send him to another country for private treatment.

Another story; this time about my sister. She gave birth to her son in the UK, and was put on a ward with three other mothers who had just given birth. My Mum told me the story the other day, of how the IV was held in place by masking tape, and how there was a restroom at the end of the hallway, that all the mothers who had just given birth had to walk down in order to relieve themselves. Add on top of this the fact that in order to free up bed space, they discharged my sister the day after she had given birth, before my nephew was fully stabilized and had begun feeding. The next day he was rushed into hospital because his blood sugar levels weren’t right, and he was shaking a lot. They ended up spending the next week in hospital to monitor him.

Compare this with my sister in law, who gave birth to her son in the US last year. She had her own private room and rest room. There were clean beds galore and sparkling new equipment decorating the hallways and private birthing rooms. There was even a food delivery service for meals. Compare this to the food service in UK hospitals, one of which is the hospital I was born in:

Revealed: The NHS hospital kitchens overrun by mice and cockroaches… and how three in four break food hygiene rules

Hundreds of hospital kitchens across the country are dirty, have cockroach and mice infestations or are stocking out of date food, a MailOnline investigation has revealed.

Inspectors found that three-quarters of kitchens are flouting basic food hygiene rules while nearly a third were not properly cleaned.

Six NHS hospitals had mice, two had rats, five had cockroaches and another hospital had an unspecified problem with ‘pests’.

The figures will raise fears that patients are being put at risk by dirty kitchens and staff ignoring proper hygiene policy.

Nationwide, hospitals spend as little as £3 a day per patient – and 82,000 meals a day are thrown out.

Campaigners said it is unacceptable that the public never find out about dirty kitchens ‘until they are teased out using Freedom of Information requests’.

An analysis of 769 environmental health inspection reports revealed that 581 hospitals across Britain are breaking the rules.

Inspectors found 229 kitchens were dirty while a further 62 were stocking out of date food.

The MailOnline obtained copies of reports carried out by environmental health teams under the Freedom of Information Act.

Inspectors at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup, Kent, found mouse droppings and a ‘serious cockroach infestation that posed an imminent risk to health’ in an undercroft last November.

The Bexley Council workers found there had been a cockroach ‘population explosion’ – but it had been missed by pest control teams.

As you can see, while many of my friends and family claim that his service is ‘free’ I have to point out that it is not, and that their taxes pay for it. That money would be better spent on private healthcare. When they tell me healthcare is too expensive and that the poor will suffer, I tell them that there are charities that can help with getting the poor coverage when they need it most.

The same people that tell me the US healthcare system is too expensive are the same people who deny there is anything wrong with the UK health system. While I agree there are flaws in the US health system. I’ll take it any day over Britain’s socialist healthcare system. The difference in service is undeniable.
