Obama is the joke of the world

As the Russian military prepares a full scale invasion of the Ukraine, President Barack Obama issues a weak response to the occupation of the Crimea by Vladimir Putin’s forces.

Barack Obama’s polls are down at home, our economy is going sour, and there are many signs that it is about to crash. His healthcare bill is a complete disaster, our debt is at astronomical new highs, and he continues to spread more money for failed social programs while publicly announcing cuts to our military.

obama joke 2

All this comes on top of scandal after sandal by his administration; Benghazi, fast and furious, the NSA spying on everyone, the IRS auditing conservative competitors. Mr Obama is no longer the darling of the left, nor of the world, who were practically at his feet when he took office.

Even in Germany where he was loved as a senator before his election, there are now graphics depicting him as the Stasi.

obama joke 1

Vladimir Putin, who is a cold calculating ex KGB operative, has now ponced on this weakness, and is preparing to retake what he sees as his in the Ukraine. The world is watching as our weak and foolish president sits back and does nothing, except issue empty rhetoric; symbolic of his entire term as president.

What a shame for this country that the first black president of the United States will be remembered not for the content of his character, but for the color of his skin. He has proved himself once and for all to be completely incompetent, and he has seriously weakened our nation, both at home and abroad.

While Russia’s Putin calculates war in the Ukraine, President Obama and Vice President Biden jog around the white house, while Michelle Obama gets ready to star in a sitcom. These people are so far removed from reality it is astounding.

I pray for the people in the Ukraine, and for the stability here at home over the coming weeks. Barack Obama is surely the joke of the world.

Hollywood has to change

One of my friend’s and I recently got into a heated discussion about the new RoboCop movie, and she was basically saying that I shouldn’t be watching anything from the progressives in Hollywood. While I agree with her in theory, I still love to watch blockbusters, especially when they are libertarian minded.

The truth is, the progressive side of Hollywood is dying. Oh sure you still get a lot of Hollywood blowhards lapping up the communist liberal agenda, but these fools are now mostly ignored. What really shows is the actual movies being made.

hollywood-sign

Even though Hollywood tough guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone are personally anti gun, their movies depict the exact opposite of this, and that is what people take away from them. These two super star actors rose to fame during the unapologetic 80’s. Their movies are cheesy and their acting is terrible, but we still love the tough guy image they portray in them.

During the 90’s and early 2000’s we saw a lot of soppy liberal apologetic movies, and none were all that successful. It’s only since the new superhero movies such as Iron Man, Captain America and the Avengers have come out, that movies are becoming true block busters again. Rebellious movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean smashed the box office charts, while true unapologetic franchises such as the Dark Knight Rises rewrote the way Hollywood movies are made.

hollywood 5

We are entering once again into an unapologetic era of hard hitting action hero movies, where freedom and independence shine through. The liberal Hollywood elitists cannot make their soppy movies without the hard hitting movies to rake in the cash. I suppose this is where my friend referred to me as an enabler. But what I have to say is that none of these soppy movies will be around for long, because for just a few hundred dollars and a good eye, I can make my own half decent movie and feature it on YouTube for free. Hollywood cannot compete with that unless they make good solid movies. And with the Disney owned Star Wars franchise getting ready to make the next set of movies, the bar will really be raised to the top.

Hollywood will have no choice but to change with the times, or get utterly destroyed by its own arrogant stupidity. And personally, I’ll watch a good indie movie any day over a Hollywood movie.

Winteregg is winning

On Saturday I wrote an article about JD Winteregg and Eric Gurr. Having attended the straw poll in Eaton, and having heard these two men debate three times now, I can safely say that JD is the right guy for the job as Congressman of the eighth district of Ohio.

winteregg is winning 1

I received some negative feedback from a couple of Gurr’s supporters on twitter when I said that Mr Gurr suggested deporting both legal and illegal immigrants. Though he may not have said this directly, the way he directed the conversation certainly made it sound like it. His reference to operation Wetback made him sound racist. Mr Gurr said he would round up all the illegal immigrants and significantly reduce legal immigration. He said he wanted to send them all back home. Now if a Libertarian Conservative like myself took that as meaning legals and illegals, I can only imagine how much fun John Boehner’s team would have with it, not to mention the progressive mainstream media. They’ll tear him apart and call him a racist. They’ll show him as being out of touch. At the end of the day Eric Gurr would be a PR nightmare and would likely ruin our chances of replacing John Boehner. Now I’m sure Mr Gurr is a nice enough guy, and he does seem to genuinely want to do good, but you have to be able to play the game, and Eric Gurr is simply not articulate enough.

JD Winteregg on the other hand understands the progressive game. He knows how to play it and to hand it back to them. He has the strategy to throw it back in their faces.

Now I’m not the only one who feels JD is the better candidate. Daily blogger Rich Hoffman had this to say about JD: “J.D. has a new penny feel about him, and after hearing him speak, I believe he is incorruptible.”

We need someone fresh, principled and incorruptible. Just like senators Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, JD brings fresh ideas and optimism when he speaks. JD understands the progressives game and how to play it against them. We need JD to beat Boehner and win OH8.

Go watch Robocop!

As the evening grew dark, and snow continued to fall in South Western Ohio, my wife and I ventured out into the storm. It was Friday evening, and Valentines Day at that. The winter storm wasn’t going to hamper our fun, and my Jeep was all ready to tackle the un-plowed roads.

We ventured down toward the highway, and the jeep dug into the slushy snow mix left by the salt trucks, desperately battling the last in a series of heavy snowfalls. I pointed out where a car had slid down the embankment only a few days previously on my way to work. We talked about how hard the winter had been so far, how cold it was, and how much snow had fallen. We entered the highway and crawled along at a steady 40 mph with the rest of the traffic, while reminiscing previous Valentines day’s together. We left the highway exit, and rolled on down to The Streets of West Chester, where a big blue truck was doing its best to keep the AMC Cinemas parking lot clear for the movie goers and sweet hearts to enjoy their evening.

We parked up the Jeep, and headed into the movie theater to buy our tickets. We bought some popcorn and a big blue slushee, and headed into our theater room. We watched all the trailers for the exciting up and coming movies for the year. Then our film started.

I was a bit nervous about how good Robocop would be. I’m not one for remakes. I prefer originals. But I must say I was very impressed. I realized immediately why there were only two showings of this film at this theater, and why critics had been so hard on it. The film takes on a very libertarian mindset, and bashes heavily on the mainstream media.

Unlike the original Robocop, this film is not anti capitalist. This film depicts the future in which drones are still used overseas, and the mainstream media is still corrupt and used for corporatist interests. The film shows the struggle between a corrupt CEO and his paid off congressmen who are being used to strike down a law that prevents the use of drones and machines on American soil. Sound familiar?

The film was action packed, and very heart warming. It showed that human interaction is far superior to machines, and that even though we should use machines to our daily advantage, we should always be in charge of them, and not vis-versa.

When the movie concluded my wife and I turned to each other and remarked at what a great movie it was. When the credits ended we got up and headed out across the street to Bravo’s where I had reservations. The big blue truck was still trying to keep up with the snowfall, and was doing a good job of clearing a path for the few lovebirds who had dared to venture out into the wintery abyss. We entered the restaurant and were seated immediately due to the various cancellations.

robocop 1

As we sat down, we people watched, and we pointed out to each other who were first date couples and who were long term married couples. We discussed the movie, its liberty mindset, and the direction movies are currently heading in. We discussed the state of the nation, and our plans for the future, all the while eating our delicious meals and reminiscing on our past.

When we had finished our meals, we headed back out into the frozen tundra, and I fired up the Jeep to the sounds of the beach boys ‘Kokomo’ as we rolled out through the snow back home.

Sometimes the greatest adventures come when they are least expected, and when everything around you seems to be trying to stop you.

As for the new movie, go watch Robocop! You won’t be disappointed!

Beating Boehner

This morning my wife and I attended the Eighth District Candidate Forum & Straw Poll in Eaton Ohio. After a pleasant 45 minute drive along country roads on one of the warmest days of the year so far, we gathered for the debate.

The two candidates running against Boehner for the republican primary are J. D. Winteregg, and Eric Gurr.
The reason for the primary against Boehner is simple. The guy is completely out of touch with the 8th district, and has become President Obama’s pet poodle.
Of the two candidates I like JD the most. He is young, articulate, and understands the game. He understands the tricks the progressives play on us, and knows how to take the fight to them. Eric Gurr sounds like a nice guy, but he doesn’t seem to be as in touch with the voters as I would like. His stance on immigration made my stomach turn, and granted a look of shock and appall from my wife. Eric was right that we should deport illegal immigrants, but dead wrong in suggesting we limit the number of legal immigrants and suggesting they should be deported also. My wife and I worked very hard to get me over here and spent a great deal of time and money jumping through all the hoops to get me to where I am today. JD’s stance however was spot on. He simply said that we should enforce our current laws, and send the illegals back to their home countries. This is exactly what needs to happen. I took comfort in a call from the audience when a guy shouted out “we’re all immigrants!”. Those who have studied American Immigration know that the current laws are designed to take the cream of the crop from other countries, and to allow families of migrants to move here after a number of years have gone by. It is a very well thought out system, that should be enforced as it is.
What Mr Gurr pointed out about immigration is that there are 100,000 immigrants coming over here each month, and only about 133,000 jobs being created each month. He used this to justify his stance against immigration. This shows how out of touch he is, and how he is ignorant of the fact that many immigrants actually create jobs in this country when they move here. Many immigrants are top scientists, engineers and technicians, taking jobs that cannot be currently filled by American workers. American exceptionalism comes not only from within this country, but from immigrants who move here and fulfill their full potential. Reducing immigration will do nothing for the economy and the people of this country.
JD was right when he said taxes and regulation need to be lowered, and that principles need to be restored in DC. As an immigrant myself, I can tell you that if it wasn’t for all the rules and regulations currently in place in this country, I would have a booming business, with many hired American workers. As it stands today, I can neither afford to hire any body, nor even think of climbing the mountains of paperwork and red tape to get started.
If we can get a politician like JD elected, if we can get people like JD elected all over the country, then the 100,000 immigrants moving legally to this great country each month, wont even put a dent in the new jobs being created. With politicians like John Boehner being voted out of office, and progressive policies being scrapped, jobs will be booming in this country once more. With spineless politicians being voted out, and principled politicians being voted in, we will rein in spending, and curb our deficit. Our country will turn a new leaf, and continue to be prosperous once more.
JD’s message is simple: cast a new light on DC, and when he says that I believe him. After the poll was taken, many in the audience felt the same way I did. JD won the straw poll, and I hope he gets the backing of the various Tea Party and liberty groups. I believe JD is our best chance and beating Boehner, and sending a message to DC, that we the American people, have had enough of career politicians, and progressive politics.
Let’s cast a new light on DC and beat John Boehner!

Why I can’t quit

A couple of days ago I posted a few of my articles on the galts gulch forum, of which I’ve been a member for over a year now. While I have contributed articles in the past to the gulch, this was the first time I saw such a flurry of activity on my blog the next day, as readers were going through my articles and signing up to follow my page. There were many positive comments, and thanks for the content of the articles. This along with other positive comments from my regular readers reminded me of why I write in the first place. I have a unique perspective, coming from another English speaking nation which lost it’s way, I can draw parallels between what is happening here, and what happened in Britain after the second world war.

(Graphic by Ben Garrison: http://grrrgraphics.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/playoffs-2014/)

I recognize that while it may seem futile, and even dangerous for my own well being to write about government corruption, that if nothing is said, evil will certainly prevail.

While history has already been written, the future hasn’t been. No matter how many progressives there are, no matter how many corrupt in power, no matter how many laws, no matter how large the police state already is, no matter what their plans, what their intentions may be, the future has not been written yet. While we surely live in perilous times, we also live in a wonderful age of information and technology.

As Ron Paul said “an idea who’s time has come, cannot be stopped by any army or any government”

While 2013 was a bad year for liberty and capitalism, it also was a major success for the freedom movement in as far as getting our message out there.

As Napoleon once said ”ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent.” And that is why despite not always feeling like it, despite not always having enough time, I will continue to write, to add my perspective to the world wide web, for other like minded people to see. For new comers to read, and to perhaps turn on the light in the minds of those who are already close to finding out the truth.

For me, reading Atlas Shrugged made the world make sense, and helped me understand what needs to be done to correct our nations course.

While we’d all rather watch TV, and live our lives in a more comfortable way, we know that we must speak up, simply to preserve our way of live. Despite wanting to spend more time on my business, my career, and my family, I will continue to add my perspective through this blog. I realize that my future depends on my speaking up, not shutting up. Those who have read Atlas Shrugged, who understand where socialism leads, know that we cannot allow the progressives to control the narrative. The future is ours for the taking, if we simply keep up the good fight, speak up, and speak often.

While 2014 poses a great threat to liberty, it could well be our best year yet!

Forbes fighting back

This morning I read an amazing article on www.forbes.com highlighting the sheer and utter failure of Barack Obama’s leadership and the idiotic collectivist mindset that the left has spewed onto our nation.

Obama To Americans: You Don’t Deserve To Be Free

English: Barack Obama delivers a speech at the...

President Obama’s Kansas speech is a remarkable document. In calling for more government controls, more taxation, more collectivism, he has two paragraphs that give the show away. Take a look at them.

there is a certain crowd in Washington who, for the last few decades, have said, let’s respond to this economic challenge with the same old tune. “The market will take care of everything,” they tell us. If we just cut more regulations and cut more taxes–especially for the wealthy–our economy will grow stronger. Sure, they say, there will be winners and losers. But if the winners do really well, then jobs and prosperity will eventually trickle down to everybody else. And, they argue, even if prosperity doesn’t trickle down, well, that’s the price of liberty.

Now, it’s a simple theory. And we have to admit, it’s one that speaks to our rugged individualism and our healthy skepticism of too much government. That’s in America’s DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. (Laughter.) But here’s the problem: It doesn’t work. It has never worked. (Applause.) It didn’t work when it was tried in the decade before the Great Depression. It’s not what led to the incredible postwar booms of the ’50s and ’60s. And it didn’t work when we tried it during the last decade. (Applause.) I mean, understand, it’s not as if we haven’t tried this theory.

Though not in Washington, I’m in that “certain crowd” that has been saying for decades that the market will take care of everything. It’s not really a crowd, it’s a tiny group of radicals–radicals for capitalism, in Ayn Rand’s well-turned phrase.

The only thing that the market doesn’t take care of is anti-market acts: acts that initiate physical force. That’s why we need government: to wield retaliatory force to defend individual rights.

Radicals for capitalism would, as the Declaration of Independence says, use government only “to secure these rights”–the rights to life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness. (Yes, I added “property” in there–property rights are inseparable from the other three.)

That’s the political philosophy on which Obama is trying to hang the blame for the recent financial crisis and every other social ill. But ask yourself, are we few radical capitalists in charge? Have radical capitalists been in charge at any time in the last, oh, say 100 years?

I pick 100 years deliberately, because it was exactly 100 years ago that a gigantic anti-capitalist measure was put into effect: the Federal Reserve System. For 100 years, government, not the free market, has controlled money and banking. How’s that worked out? How’s the value of the dollar held up since 1913? Is it worth one-fiftieth of its value then or only one-one-hundredth? You be the judge. How did the dollar hold up over the 100 years before this government take-over of money and banking? It actually gained slightly in value.

Laissez-faire hasn’t existed since the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1890. That was the first of a plethora of government crimes against the free market.

Radical capitalists are just beginning to have a slight effect on the Right wing. The overwhelming majority on the Right are eclectic. Which is a nice way of saying inconsistent.

The typical Republican would never, ever say “the market will take care of everything.” He’d say, “the market will take care of most things, and for the other things, we need the regulatory-welfare state.”

They are for individualism–except when they are against it. They are against free markets and individualism not only when they agree with the Left that we must have antitrust laws and the Federal Reserve, but also when they demand immigration controls, government schools, regulatory agencies, Medicare, laws prohibiting abortion, Social Security, “public works” projects, the “social safety net,” laws against insider trading, banking regulation, and the whole system of fiat money.

Obama blames economic woes, some real some manufactured (“inequality”) on a philosophy and policy that was abandoned a century ago. What doesn’t exist is what he says didn’t work.

Obama absurdly suggests that timid, half-hearted, compromisers, like George W. Bush, installed laissez-faire capitalism–on the grounds that they tinkered with one or two regulations (Glass-Steagall) and marginal tax rates–while blanking out the fact that under the Bush administration, government spending ballooned, growing much faster than under Clinton, and 50,000 new regulations were added to the Federal Register.

The philosophy of individualism and the politics of laissez-faire would mean government spending of about one-tenth its present level. It would also mean an end to all regulatory agencies: no SEC, FDA, NLRB, FAA, OSHA, EPA, FTC, ATF, CFTC, FHA, FCC–to name just some of the better known of the 430 agencies listed in the federal register.

Even you, dear reader, are probably wondering how on earth anyone could challenge things like Social Security, government schools, and the FDA. But that’s not the point. The point is: these statist, anti-capitalist programs exist and have existed for about a century. The point is: Obama is pretending that the Progressive PGR -2.02% Era, the New Deal, and the Great Society were repealed, so that he can blame the financial crisis on capitalism. He’s pretending that George Bush was George Washington.

We radical capitalists say that it was the regulatory-welfare state that imploded in 2008. You may disagree, but let’s argue that out, rather than engaging in the Big Lie that what failed was laissez-faire and individualism.

The question is: in the messy mixture of government controls and remnants of capitalism, which element caused the Great Depression and the recent financial crisis?

By raising that question, we uncover the fundamental: the meaning of capitalism and the meaning of government controls. Capitalism means freedom. Government means force.

Suddenly, the whole issue comes into focus: Obama is saying that freedom leads to poverty and force leads to wealth. He’s saying: “Look, we tried leaving you free to live your own life, and that didn’t work. You have to be forced, you have to have your earnings seized by the state, you have to work under our directions–under penalty of fines or imprisonment. You don’t deserve to be free.”

As a bit of ugly irony, this is precisely what former white slave-owners said after the Civil War: “The black man can’t handle freedom; we have to force him for his own good.” The innovation of the Left is to extend that viewpoint to all races.

Putting the issue as force vs. freedom shows how the shoe is on the other foot regarding what Obama said. Let me re-write it:

there is a certain crowd in Washington who, for the last few decades, have said, let’s respond to this economic challenge with the same old tune. “The government will take care of everything,” they tell us. If we just pile on even more regulations and raise taxes–especially on the wealthy–our economy will grow stronger. Sure, they say, there will be winners and losers. But if the losers are protected by more social programs and a higher minimum wage, if there is more Quantitative Easing by the Fed, then jobs and prosperity will eventually trickle up to everybody else. And, they argue, even if prosperity doesn’t trickle up, well, that’s the price of the social safety net.

Now, it’s a simple theory. And we have to admit, it’s one that speaks to our intellectuals’ collectivism and Paul Krugman’s skepticism about freedom. That’s in Harvard’s DNA. And that theory fits well on a bumper sticker. (Laughter.) But here’s the problem: It doesn’t work. It has never worked. (Applause.) It didn’t work when it was tried in the Soviet Union. It’s not what led to the incredible booms in India and China. And it didn’t work when Europetried it during over the last decades. (Applause.) I mean, understand, it’s not as if we haven’t tried this statist theory.

How does that sound? That’s blaming an actual, existing condition–government controls and wealth-expropriation–not a condition that ended in the late 19th century.

So which is the path to prosperity and happiness–freedom or force? Remember that force is aimed at preventing you from acting on your rational judgment.

Obama’s real antagonist is Ayn Rand, who made the case that reason is man’s basic means of survival and coercion is anti-reason. Force initiated against free, innocent men is directed at stopping them from acting on their own thinking. It makes them, under threat of fines and imprisonment, act as the government demands rather than as they think their self-interest requires. That’s the whole point of threatening force: to make people act against their own judgment.

The radical, uncompromised, laissez-faire capitalism that Obama pretends was in place in 2008 is exactly what morality demands. Because, as Ayn Rand wrote in 1961: “No man has the right to initiate the use of physical force against others. . . . To claim the right to initiate the use of physical force against another man–the right to compel his agreement by the threat of physical destruction–is to evict oneself automatically from the realm of rights, of morality and of the intellect.”

Obama and his fellow statists have indeed evicted themselves from that realm.

As you can see, this article is hard hitting, and smacks the Obama administration and all the foolish progressives square on the nose. It is easily one of the most well written articles against collectivism, and for capitalism, that I have ever read. I applaud Harry Binswanger for his decisive and edgy article.

Lessons from 2013

2013 saw an array of assaults from the communist left; from gun control to Obamacare. But the right is fighting back. 2013 witnessed the rise of the Libertarians. It saw filibusters from Rand Paul and Ted Cruz. It saw the continuation of the Tea Party movement, when many said it was over. The Tea Party facebook page is now over 2 million strong. That’s two million people just like you and me, who aren’t afraid of what their aunties and uncles, nephews, sisters, brothers, parents, friends and co-workers think of them. That’s two million people who know what is right, who know what is wrong, and know that something must be done about it; no matter what others may think of them.

2013 2

The left has so poisoned the media and the general culture, which starts at the poisoned education centers, that people are now concerned only with feelings, instead of what is right and wrong. We’ve got nanny states, who pamper our kids, and who exclude individuals who step out of line.

2013 3

2013 saw the farce that is government, spend more money shutting down monuments and parks than it would have taken to keep them open, in order to make people feel bad. It then saw veterans from around the nation throw these barricades onto the White House lawn. It saw the media ignore this, all the while the independent alternative media went crazy, and images were bounced all over the internet for the entire world to see.

2013 6

After the cowardly and stupid push for gun control in Colorado, 2013 saw this states citizens create a petition, and recall its out of touch senators.

2013 1

2013 proved that no matter how strong the few in power are, no matter how many useful idiots they have at their feet, they are fundamentally weak because they do not stand on principles. They have no honor and integrity, and in this new information age, the world is beginning to see right through them. So do not let your hearts be troubled by the avalanche of stupidity that is swelling at our feet from their crookedness. Stand up and be strong. Find your principles, stand on them. Be a light in the dark, be a person of honor and integrity. Speak up, and remember that “Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent.” – Napoleon

2013 4

Continue to read about the founding fathers, about Ayn Rand, continue to fill your head with truths. Be the person who can call out a lie, and dismiss it quickly and finally with the truth.

2013 5

2013 has taught me that anything is possible. That no matter how dark things may seem, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. Keep your feet planted firmly on the ground, and stand out for all the world to see. We survived 2013, let us continue the fight back into 2014!

2013 7

Merry Christmas

For the first time in almost a decade, I am spending Christmas with my family. Ever since I met my wife, I have spent Christmas in America. My parents have now moved over here, my sister has come up from North Carolina with her husband and my nephew, and we’re all looking forward to my Mum’s Christmas dinner around the new table Brooke and I bought last month in the Black Friday sales.

merry 1

It is because of Capitalism, and my wife and I’s hard work that we are able to provide a nice big cozy house to hold everyone in this holiday season.

Despite all the fools in Washington, despite our idiot Marxist President, despite all the pushes towards a failed philosophy, we have managed to maintain our independence for the most part, and have been able to keep the free market bumbling along also.

2013 was a year full of ups and downs. For me personally I bought my first home, sponsored my parents to live here, I got to go to Disney World, spend a week on the beach in Florida. Worked hard, switched jobs, landscaped my new yard, and a whole myriad of other things.

merry 2

When looking back on 2013 remember that despite all the pushes for gun control, and other idiotic measures, we prevailed, we are winning, Colorado recalled its senators, and the movement fell flat on its face. Obamacare went into effect and backfired spectacularly, just as we knew it would. The government shutdown, and the barricades were thrown onto the White House lawn by the veterans. Barack Obama’s approval ratings dropped lower than George W Bush’s ever did, and the media has been well and truly exposed for the fake and biased crap that it is.

So enjoy this Christmas with your family, your friends, all of your loved ones, and may the new year bring about many more recalls of senators, filibusters, impeachments, and replacements of the established crony’s in Washington.

To all my friends and family in the UK, the USA, Australia, and anywhere else you may be in the world this holiday season; Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
