Ron Paul has the best foreign policy

This posting is for those who believe in fiscal responsibility, who believe in the Republic of the United States, but who are on the fence about voting for Ron Paul.

In my previous posts I have told you what I think about all the other candidates, and I have told you why I like Ron Paul, and only him. So here goes:

For all those who think that Ron Paul has a bad foreign policy. I say: remember what diplomacy is and go read ‘The Art of War’.

Diplomacy (from Latin diploma, meaning an official document, which in turn derives from the Greek δίπλωμα, meaning a folded paper/document) is the art and practice of conducting negotiations between representatives of groups or states. It usually refers to international diplomacy, the conduct of international relations[1] through the intercession of professional diplomats with regard to issues of peace-making, trade, war, economics, culture, environment and human rights. International treaties are usually negotiated by diplomats prior to endorsement by national politicians. In an informal or social sense, diplomacy is the employment of tact to gain strategic advantage or to find mutually acceptable solutions to a common challenge, one set of tools being the phrasing of statements in a non-confrontational, or polite manner.

Even in a simple game of checkers, if you expose too many of your pieces, the opponent can easily take your pieces and win. During the war of independence, the colonialists were always on the run, and Britain won many battles, and yet the colonialists won. Why is that?

Humans the world over have a desire to be free, they do not like to be told what to do, they certainly don’t like to be forced into submission.

All the countries that we are currently bombing despise us for doing so, and we are creating more and more terrorists by agitating the neighboring countries.

Ron Paul accurately claims that 50% of all terrorists come from Saudi Arabia.

For those who say that Iran is a threat to us; how? How will they ever get anywhere near us? Their military is tiny compared to ours. So what if they’re developing nuclear weapons? Our technology is far superior to theirs. Do you not think we could deflect a nuclear attack, if they were ever so stupid to launch one?

I think that the media does a good job of making conservatives out to be warmongers and liberals out to be welfare-mongers. Special interests are always in play, and you must be careful not to be steered into one group or another.

So what about Israel? I hear you say. Well what about Israel? Benjamin Netanyahu told us that they are capable of defending themselves.

Think about this: pulling our troops home, means that we have a strong force at home. We still have submarines and aircraft carriers that can circle the world, and we still have friendly alliances with other countries.

Wasn’t it Teddy Roosevelt who said ‘talk softly and carry a big stick’? We have a big stick, we have the most powerful army in the world, but swinging that big stick around constantly will only make us tired and wear us out. It costs billions of dollars to make war and it has warn our economy out.

We must go back to trade and commerce, and learn to get along with other nations no matter what their ambitions may be.

If another country were to be so bold as to attack us or one of our allies, would we not be in a stronger position to launch a counter attack from our home, than from our overstretched troops abroad?

Just look at the Falkland islands, Britain did a very good job taking that land back. And how many countries have invaded their territory since?

War cannot be sustained without a strong and functioning economy. This country is almost bankrupt. We cannot afford to police the world. Our economy is struggling right now, and our debt matches our total GDP for an entire year! How many candidates have a solid plan to fix this? How many candidates are bold enough to make the moves to fix it? As far as I see it; only one!

Eisenhower warned about the military industrial banking complex in his farewell address to the nation:

In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. We must never let the weight of this combination endanger our liberties or democratic processes. We should take nothing for granted. Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together.

Look at how the candidates are funded, look at what they talk about, look at how they are dangerously war mongering right now. And tell me his warning has not come true.

The Police State is already taking over

If you want a ball busting president like Newt Gingrich, remember that Adolf Hitler himself was considered a great leader and sought security for his country. Remember that Hitler endorsed the police state in the same way Newt currently is.

How would those of you who blog and speak freely about your current distaste of government; like to have the local militarized police force come knocking on your door and have you sent to a FEMA camp? With all the rising tensions in the world, and the ever more secular government, do you not think our current president or next president (other than Ron Paul) will sign an executive order to detain ‘troublemakers’. Think about all the bills that have been signed in just the last year alone that strip our constitutional rights away.

Oh but we need a strong candidate to beat Obama! I hear you say. Look, Newt, Mitt and Santoram are all special interest establishment politicians. They are all corrupt. They only have the backing of the right wing conservatives. Ron Paul has the military vote, he has the blue democrats vote, he has the independents vote, he has the tea party vote and he has the fiscal conservatives vote.

I suggest that during the republican primaries you vote for morality, vote for freedom, and vote for the constitution.

One person can make a difference. By reading sites like these, by finding out information not given to you by the mainstream media, you are already broadening your horizons. There are many people in this country right now who are hungry for information, hungry to hear the truth, and dying to get started on a path back toward liberty, but do not know where to turn.

By talking to a friend at work, or someone in your social group, who is similar minded to you, you can help show them what Ron Paul is really about, you can show them that he stands for liberty, and when they point out that he has a bad foreign policy, you can turn that argument around and tell them that he actually has the best one of all the candidates out there.

Don’t allow yourselves to be divided and conquered by special interests. If you love freedom and independence; unite behind the one man who WILL RESTORE AMERICA NOW

Your vote matters, your opinions matter, your voice matters, talking to your friends and family, standing up for principles and having the courage to point out that the media is wrong and that your family should do their own research; all of this matters.

I have sat down with friends, family and co-workers and told them about Ron Paul, about my experiences in life, in what I’ve learned, and whenever they have presented me with a question I did not know how to answer, I went away and researched it, and told them what I found out the next time I saw them. Sometimes the discussions were heated, but I kept my cool, and asked them as many questions as possible as to why they felt a certain way. Once I told them what I had found out, they tended to listen more intently to be, and began to accept what I told them. The vast majority of them now accept that Ron Paul is the only viable candidate for office of the president, and all are doing their best to spread the word.

We have five full months of campaigning yet to do, and you can reach many people in that time. The battle for freedom is only lost when good men do nothing.

Now the ball is in your court, now you must choose your future.

Would you rather vote for Obama?

Will you vote for the lesser of two evils this November, or will you vote for a patriot?

A lot of people would ‘rather vote for Obama’ than vote for Newt Gingrich or Mitt Romney. And to be honest, I can’t blame them. Newt Gingrich is a globalist and is typical of the corrupt political establishment and Mitt Romney is practically a mirror image of Obama, and may as well be a liberal himself.

The only problem is that voting for the lesser of two evils (no matter if you choose Obama or one of the other two) is still evil.

Does Newt or Mitt portray fiscal conservative values? Do they have a track record to prove it?

Does Obama show a good record of this? That is a silly question since he has doubled the national debt in only three years, but it must be asked since you will have to ask yourself that when you vote.

I have decided to vote for Ron Paul, no matter if he wins the Republican nomination or not. Whether he runs as an independent or I have to write his name in. There are thousands, if not millions who will do so if it comes to it.

A real patriot does not vote for the less of two evils.

To vote for Gingrich or Romney, just to get rid of Obama, will not fix the fundamental flaws this country is currently experiencing. At least with Obama, you know he is an enemy of the constitution. With Gingrich and Romney you get a lot of rhetoric and talking points, but just like George W Bush, you still get the patriot act and other anti-constitutional bills which erode away at the Republic.

You must choose where you stand. Are you a sunny day patriot? Will you vote simply to remove one tyrant from power, just to replace him with another? Will you replace one snake with another snake in sheep’s clothing?

THESE are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated.

And for all those holding off on voting for Ron Paul in the primaries because you have been led to believe that he has a dangerous foreign policy. I will show you tomorrow; why I think he actually has the best foreign policy, and why I think he is our last chance to save the Republic.

Your vote matters, but what matters more is standing for principles. Without principles we are nothing. Our Republic is founded upon beliefs and principles. We must stand for them, even if current tyrants hold power.

The current left/right, liberal/conservative genre is used to divide and conquer us. The last major landslide victory in an election was by Ronald Reagan because he spoke to the middle. Both liberals and conservatives alike loved him because he spoke to the common man, because he spoke of liberty for all.

I do not believe that Newt or Mitt could beat Obama, and even if they did, it would be a shallow victory. Has the Overton Window really shifted so far that we would vote a flip flop liberal conservative or a corrupt political establishment 3 time married fraud into the white house? I think not, I think people would rather vote for Obama. And that is indeed sad.

The lesser of two evils is not good enough anymore, it never was, and now it is more important than ever to stand on principles, no matter what the outcome.

As of right now, Ron Paul is still in the race to become the Republican nominee. It is my sincere hope that he succeeds. If he were to run as an independent and split the vote, and not win the overall election, at least he would cut the power down on both sides, and show the nation that independence is more important than simply picking a side. The Tea Party movement is growing, and more and more people are re-discovering the constitution and voting in ways that represent a smaller and more accountable government.

Liberty will prevail if enough people stick to the cause and see it through, no matter how hard the times ahead.

O! say can you see by the dawn’s early light,
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming,
Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets’ red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there;
O! say does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

WWIII, the greatest depression or liberty?

I must admit, I’m not feeling 100% today. Yesterday was a long day at work, and I’ve been reading reports on the escalating sanctions on Iran.

What I see is either the start of WWIII, the greatest depression, or a chance for liberty to regain its strength.

Let me start by saying that Iran is not a threat to the United States. They do not have the capacity to fly anywhere close to us, and certainly not to bomb us. Even if they developed missiles, they would be knocked out of the sky far before they would be able to strike a US city, and only if Iran was crazy enough to actually attempt it.

We have spent over a trillion dollars on multiple wars in the last decade, and have lost over 5000 men. That does not include the other countries losses, nor all the injured men who have returned home, and are unable to rejoin the work force or lead a normal life.

I see that if we start a war with Iran, it will be far more bloody than Iraq and Afghanistan, and it could draw in China and Russia to the conflict, therefore starting world war III. And for what reason? Oil? I mean think about it, of all the real reasons, why not oil? North Korea is developing Nuclear capabilities and we’re not threatening them. Why is it every country we invade is always oil rich, while there are plenty more dictatorships in the world with far more tyrannical laws?

The sad thing is, that even though we may be at peak oil right now, and I think that is the real reason for the forthcoming conflict. Oil is actually in abundance in this country. If it wasn’t for over-regulation, we could be fracking oil in Colorado, which has the largest oil reserves in the world.

Now think about this. If we start war with Iran, and Russia and China don’t get involved. It might not become World War III, but how are we going to pay for the conflict? At 15 trillion dollars, how can we borrow more, without devaluing the dollar further? China may well dump our currency which will crash the dollar, pummel the economy and send us into the greatest depression ever.

The third option is peace. A huge cut in spending, cuts in government departments and de-regulation.

There is only one candidate for the office of president who will lead this country back on that path. No other candidate is talking about these things.

President Obama did not sign the keystone pipeline. This shows that he is not interested in helping this country with its energy crises. And at $3.50 a gallon last time I filled up my car, we are in an energy crises. When gas costs more, everything costs more. And when everything costs more, you are unable to buy as much. When you are unable to buy as much, you don’t go out as much, and the domino effect is that more and more jobs are lost as companies slowly go out of business because people simply cannot afford to go anywhere and do very much.

In order for gas to go down, we need to regain our energy independence and drill/frack more oil here in our country.

I will be writing an article about oil and renewable resources in the coming weeks. But for now, we do need to drill more oil.

This country is at a crossroads. It is said that politics is the art of delaying a decision until it is no longer relevant.

Right now there are a lot of major issues that are very relevant and need to be addressed and acted upon promptly.

We cannot afford another war, and we cannot keep spending trillions of dollars. The world needs to accept other countries decisions to do what they want to do. Engaging in trade and commerce is a great thing, but sanctions, embargos and the rattling of sabers is not a good idea.

I do not want my generation to become the next ‘lost generation’, I do not want my generation to be thrown into the jaws of war, and I do not want to have to survive my way through a depression when there is an option to revive prosperity.

We are at a crossroads, and it will take many individual voices to help speak the truth and get the message out there. We must preserve liberty and freedom in the world.

Legalize Marijuana; whoa! what?

I don’t do drugs. I never have, and I never will. But I don’t care if you do, just so long as you don’t do it around me.

Saying all that, why don’t we end the war on drugs and legalize pot? With as much as 50% of the entire country having done or doing drugs, I’d say we’ve lost the war on drugs. What an expensive waste of time. You can get drugs on almost any street corner, and it costs you far more than if you were to grow it yourself.

Marijuana has healing benefits, and hemp creates a strong fiber that can be used to make clothes.

So why don’t we legalize pot, put a tax on it, the same as for alcohol and tobacco, and let people smoke it.

But everyone will be on drugs! Oh the humanity!

Well that is an interesting scare tactic, because many European countries allow open possession and use of marijuana, and they have the lowest usage of the drug in the world. This is because it is not taboo, and they see no need to feel rebellious and smoke it. Just look at how the stricter alcohol laws have made teens more susceptible to over-drinking in this country.

But its immoral!!!! I hear you scream.

Look, you cannot legalize morality. This is supposed to be the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not the home of the morality by law social police state.

Morality starts in the individual, then in relationships, in the family, in your home, in your neighborhood. Once people start to remember morality again, they will teach their children and talk to their neighbors about the side effects of drugs, and how it is irresponsible to get high all the time.

So why not strike down the federal law, make it a state issue, slowly introduce it, manufacture and tax it, and stop the wasteful war on drugs. It will end many of the crimes being committed in the US, and stop the violence along the Mexico border.

And for all those who say production will slow down, take a minute to remember that we’re in a recession. I think the real reason a lot of people are afraid of making it legal is because they are afraid people will not show up to work, and will cause traffic accidents. And to this I say that an employer can refuse to let the employee in if he/she is ‘high’. And if the said person who causes a wreck is ‘high’, they should be prosecuted the same way as a drunk would be if they caused a wreck.

Wouldn’t it be better to allow those who want to do it, a cheaper way to do it, so they can spend more of their money on legitimate products such as video games and televisions, rather than waste a huge sums of money to some shady drug dealer? Wouldn’t this actually boost the economy? Especially considering that so many people do marijuana right now anyway.

Think about it; making it a state issue puts it in the hands of the people of each individual state, so some can outright ban it, and some can introduce it as legal. By making it legal we eliminate the violence on the Mexican border, free up more individuals money to spend on legitimate products and help boost economy, and we get people to wake up and realize that they need to take their lives into their own hands and take care of themselves, not expect to be taken care of by the nanny state.

Also you must look at how marijuana is being used to introduce more and more  anti-consitutional laws. Such as the Indiana police now being able to break into someones home because they ‘smell marijuana’. Just think of the corruption this  causes.

Laws that are created to help people save them from themselves often backfire, and are then used to create more authoritarian rules that put the lives of others in jepordy. This war on drugs has helped to create the police state, and has helped militarize the police, in a similar way to Nazi Germany in the 1930’s.

I do not endorse the use of drugs, in fact I have a strong distaste for anyone who uses them. I don’t mind if you use them because I am a libertarian at heart and beleive that you have the right to your own body. But that does not mean that I will approve on a moral level of what you do. I will still tell you that drugs are bad mmkay?

I’d like to hear your opinions. Please try to be open minded, I see that one of the biggest problems in this country is that everyone is afraid to manufacture anything. The attitude is that pot is bad so it should be banned. So much is regulated, and no one is allowed to produce anything without vast sums of regulations and paperwork getting in the way.

Keep an open mind, and think about the future. It is up to the individual to rule his own life, not the police state, no matter how bad that person chooses to live their life.

I am all for allowing the individual to succeed or fail, and I do not want a police state dictating to me or anyone else their right to do so.

The Power of One

I’ve heard that Ron Paul cannot be elected and I’ve heard that one man cannot make a difference. I’ve heard that there must be a large and strong enough group for anything to succeed, and that one person alone cannot achieve anything. And to all of them I say:

Bull!

One man can change the world.

Think about this; the communists began their rise to power with only 18 men!

Our countries are governed with very view, and there are far fewer rich than there are middle class and poor.

If one man has the bravery to stand up, to speak the truth, to use words as his weapon and knowledge as his shield, who stands up for liberty, and does not give up when others laugh him down.

Winston Churchill was ignored throughout the 30’s, and yet he became the greatest Prime Minister Britain has ever known, because all of what he said became true, and he was the only one to lead the country through the darkness.

Out of office and politically “in the wilderness” during the 1930s, Churchill took the lead in warning about Nazi Germany and in campaigning for rearmament. On the outbreak of the Second World War, he was again appointed First Lord of the Admiralty. Following the resignation of Neville Chamberlain on 10 May 1940, Churchill became Prime Minister. His steadfast refusal to consider defeat, surrender, or a compromise peace helped inspire British resistance, especially during the difficult early days of the War when Britain stood alone in its active opposition to Hitler. Churchill was particularly noted for his speeches and radio broadcasts, which helped inspire the British people. He led Britain as Prime Minister until victory over Nazi Germany had been secured.

Never give in–never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

The patriots of this country were up against the greatest power in the world, and had everything against them. So many times they were almost defeated, and so many times they could have easily given up. But there was one who did stand up, who did carry on, and that one man inspired others to do so because of his convictions.

His name was George Washington.

George Washington led his army through a terrible weather:

Valley Forge

Washington’s army of 11,000[78] went into winter quarters at Valley Forge north of Philadelphia in December 1777. Over the next six months, the deaths in camp numbered in the thousands (the majority being from disease),[79] with historians’ death toll estimates ranging from 2000[79] to 2500,[80][81] to over 3000 men.[82] The next spring, however, the army emerged from Valley Forge in good order, thanks in part to a full-scale training program supervised by General von Steuben.[83] The British evacuated Philadelphia to New York in 1778,[84] shadowed by Washington. Washington attacked them at Monmouth, fighting to an effective draw in one of the war’s largest battles.[85] Afterwards, the British continued to head towards New York, and Washington moved his army outside of New York.[84]

Washington led a surprise attack the winter before, showing his determination to see the cause of the rebellion prevail:

The Battle of Trenton took place on December 26, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War, after General George Washington’s crossing of the Delaware River north of Trenton, New Jersey. The hazardous crossing in adverse weather made it possible for Washington to lead the main body of the Continental Army against Hessian soldiers garrisoned at Trenton. After a brief battle, nearly the entire Hessian force was captured, with negligible losses to the Americans. The battle significantly boosted the Continental Army’s flagging morale, and inspired re-enlistments.

No one else could have done what he did. He used his intellect, and courage to take the fight to the enemy, when no one else would have.

Gandhi stood up to the British Empire and freed his people from their governance. He was one man.

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (Gujarati: મોહનદાસ કરમચંદ ગાંધી; Hindi: मोहनदास करमचंद गांधी, pronounced: [moːˈɦənd̪aːs kəˈrəmtʃənd̪ ˈɡaːnd̪ʱi] ( listen). 2 October 1869[1] – 30 January 1948) was the pre-eminent political and ideological leader of India during the Indian independence movement. Pioneering the use of non-violent resistance to tyranny through mass civil disobedience, a tool to fight for civil rights and freedom that he called satyagraha, he founded his doctrine of nonviolent protest to achieve political and social progress based upon ahimsa, or total nonviolence for which he is internationally renowned.[3][4] Gandhi led India to its independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world.

Martin Luther King was one man who led the cause for racial equality.

You have the power to make a difference.

All you need to do is stand up, make yourself heard, do your research, and never give up your pursuance of the truth. Never give up the idea of liberty and freedom, no matter what tyrannical governments may be up to at that point in time.

Words are powerful, and all the while we are able to use them and speak out, we should do so.

An idea can change the world, but first you must speak it and let it be heard.

The power of one is within you.

Abandon Ship!

I do pay some attention to the main news headlines. It’s hard not to, and I do like to diversify my knowledge on common news articles. Even though most headlines are used to cover up other truths in the world.

It is not surprising that Captain Francesco Schettino of the Costa Concordia jumped ship. In socialist societies you are taught to blame everyone else but yourself for the ills of the world. You are not taught individual responsibility and leadership.

When people ask; ‘what is wrong with the world?’ I simply say ‘read Atlas Shrugged’

People must take responsibilities for their own actions. The captain should have been the last person off that ship, and should have taken full charge of the evacuations. That is what being a leader is supposed to be.

It seems that gone are the days of chivalry and honor, but do not despair, the days of men who ignore reality will pass. Society will collapse in on itself without leaders to pave the way. Luckily there are still leaders, and their voices are growing, backed by the growing number of people who have nowhere else to turn, and will finally listen and participate.

Capitalism, free trade, relaxed rules, freedom of speech, these will all make a comeback, if you stand up and make yourself heard.

There was once a society of squirrels that had been in existence for millions of years.
Each squirrel gathered and ate nuts and saved nuts to have food to eat during the winter
season. After all, it was the intention of Nature for squirrels to gather nuts. If a squirrel
got sick or was injured then it died of starvation if it did not recover soon enough. When
a squirrel became too old to gather nuts it died or was eaten by predators. If a squirrel
ignored the dangers of predators such as snakes, foxes, and hawks then it was eaten as
Nature eats its mistakes. Life was good if a squirrel did the right things and was short if a
squirrel did the wrong things. Thus, is the way of Nature. Nature quickly gets rid of
stupidity and laziness. Even if a squirrel lived properly it could still suffer a bad fate just
due to the random chance of disease, injury, or predation. There was no government — it
was every squirrel for itself.


A group of squirrels got together and decided that life would be better if a fund of nuts
was set up to take care of sick and injured squirrels. It would also be beneficial if a fund
was set up to take care of squirrels too old to gather nuts anymore. A concern of all
squirrels was being eaten by a predator. It was decided that a small government would be
set up to handle these concerns and improve the lives of all squirrels. This was a new
experience. No squirrel had ever been in a government before or even operated any kind
of business. Each squirrel would pay a tax of some nuts per year and then could live with
less worry about dying too soon. A defense system was also set up to quickly warn all
squirrels when a predator was around.


And so it was. The system worked well — with food to eat, more squirrels were able to
recover after being sick or injured. Those who would not recover could at least live out
their lives without starving. For the first time, elderly squirrels were able to retire. Life
was much better. Predators were a thing of the past with a fine defense department.
Since squirrels are all hard working, it never occurred that a squirrel might cheat the
system and fake an illness or injury just to collect benefits and avoid work. There was no
incentive to be lazy in the past because starvation was the certain result. As they set up
the government it had not occurred to the squirrels that good intentions could possibly
lead to bad results. Good intentions should only produce good results, they thought. The
squirrels had never heard of misguided compassion syndrome and had inadvertently
created a socialist system where the government managed the concerns of squirrels. The
squirrels also did not understand concepts of business and free enterprise and how these
concepts could serve the squirrel population without the problems that socialism leads to.

Eventually, a few squirrels learned how to cheat the system and receive benefits instead
of working. The other squirrels were starting to get a little suspicious of this but it was
hard to prove. The tax required to maintain this system had to be increased. The number
of squirrels working in the bureaucracy had to be increased too. Being paid a salary of
nuts to do bureaucratic work was easier than gathering nuts so there was no incentive to
do anything about any squirrels who were cheating. Cheating squirrels actually helped
the bureaucracy grow faster and thus raise the salaries of the bureaucrats.


The cheating squirrels started having offspring. The offspring also qualified for benefits.
The young squirrels played just as the young squirrels of the nut-gatherers but did not
learn how to gather nuts. They only learned that they had the right for nuts to be provided
to them. In fact, they wondered why other squirrels would work when nuts could be had
for free. The other squirrels must be stupid. As these young squirrels grew up they too
had offspring. Since they were not occupied in gathering nuts they had time to have much
more offspring than the working squirrels. They had more offspring than they could care
for and needed more government services to assist them. With socialism it takes a village
to raise a squirrel. The ever increasing number of squirrels to take care of required an
ever increasing government and taxes. Although the government squirrels were working
they were no longer gathering nuts so taxes on the ever fewer nut gathering squirrels had
to be increased again to support the growing bureaucracy and beneficiaries.


Taxes were increased again and again and the “fortunate” nut gathering squirrels were
working harder and harder to provide for themselves as well as for the “unfortunate” nonworking
squirrels living on government benefits and also for the increasing government
services. There was a slow but steady increase in the number of nut gatherers who figured
out how to be just about as well off by becoming non-working.


The nut gathering squirrels complained more and more but they did not have enough
votes to change the system. They were called all sorts of bad names such as rich, greedy,
mean-spirited, right-wing, uncaring, and evil. They were even accused of tax schemes to
create tax breaks for the wealthy. Welfare for the rich was denying the poor of what they
rightfully deserved as any nuts not taken as taxes were nuts essentially stolen from the
poor. Any tax relief for the nut gathering squirrels was seen as placing an unfair tax
burden on the poor. As the nut gathering squirrels were gathering more and more nuts
just to keep up with the taxes it was pointed out that there was a widening gap between
the fortunate and the unfortunate squirrels. The gap could be made to appear particularly
wide if the before taxes income of the fortunate was compared with the before benefit
income of the unfortunate. Economic justice would insure that no squirrel could get
unfairly ahead on this “level” playing field.


With great secrecy, one night the nut gathering squirrels abandoned their homes and store
of gathered nuts and moved to a new forest far away. The next morning the non-working
squirrels gleefully took over the homes and had a feast on the stores of nuts. Life would
now be very good with the rich squirrels gone. This is what they had been wishing for
and the unfortunate could now have what they had always deserved. True to the laws of
Nature they would ultimately get what they deserved.

The wealth of nuts was being quickly consumed. It then occurred to the able-bodied nonworking
squirrels that the sick, injured, and retired squirrels could not really enjoy life
anyway and were a drain on the wealth of nuts. These squirrels were labeled as “bad” –
enemies of “good” squirrels. Most of the “bad” squirrels had previously been the evil
fortunate nut-gathering squirrels who had made life so hard for the unfortunate “good”
squirrels. Now these “bad” squirrels were eating the nuts that the “good” squirrels
deserved — stealing from the poor. This serious threat had to be eliminated and so there
was a mass extermination of the “bad” squirrels. The “good” squirrels felt completely
justified. There was much rejoicing. Now there were only “good” squirrels. Life would
once again be good.


No squirrel knew how to gather nuts anymore. Some squirrels worked (as in every crowd
there is always a squirrel that works harder) at learning how and did, but the other
squirrels quickly took the nuts. After all, those greedy squirrels who worked did not need
the nuts and the needy squirrels who did not work, did. It was much easier to take nuts
rather than work for them.


There was no longer a government — it died a quick death without the tax revenue. There
had been a defense department that had done an excellent job at keeping predators away.
During previous times, many of the non-working squirrels believed that they could have
even more nuts for themselves if nuts were not wasted feeding squirrels working in the
defense department. After all, when was the last time a squirrel was eaten by a predator?
With the defense department gone and since most squirrels knew nothing about avoiding
predators (the government had always done that for them), the snakes, foxes, and hawks
now had an easy feast. The wish to get what they deserved had finally come true for the
“good” squirrels.


The population of squirrels rapidly fell. In the end, the surviving squirrels were those who
did figure out how to gather nuts and learned how to deal with predators. These squirrels
learned what their great, great, great ancestors had known; that a squirrel has to work
with Nature, not against it. Squirrels survive only by working — Nature does not provide
a living for free. Things had been fine as long as only sick and injured squirrels received
a free living as their numbers would always be small and could be supported by the
system. This level of compassion is compatible with Nature as there is a balance between
providing a free living to a disabled squirrel in exchange for the same being done for a
working squirrel should the working squirrel become disabled. Overall survival is
enhanced – that is what Nature is about.


Misguided compassion is extending a free living to squirrels who are just lazy. The
problems that this causes generally call for more misguided compassion which in turn
continues to make things worse. It seems that more socialism is necessary to solve the
problems that socialism causes. Misguided compassion is a violation of the laws of
Nature and can not go on indefinitely. When living creatures go against the laws of
Nature the death rate must increase and increase until the laws are again followed.

The nut-gathering squirrels who moved to the new forest are doing very well. They
rebuilt all that they had before and even set up a government again to handle broad
concerns of all squirrels including defense against predators. The government decided
that an insurance system to care for sick, disabled, and retired squirrels was best handled
by letting private squirrels set up competing insurance companies. Competition
guaranteed that waste and cheating would not be tolerated — i.e. working with the laws of
Nature. The singular government system of before had no competition and thus no
incentive to operate efficiently — that is, working against the laws of Nature. The
insurance companies did periodic evaluation to separate truly disabled squirrels from
squirrels who had only developed laziness disorder. No benefits were provided to the lazy
squirrels at all — they either regained their work ethic or died of starvation. The lazy
squirrels would complain but the desire to eat was a strong incentive to recover from
laziness disorder. It was amazing how fast any lazy squirrels recovered. On rare occasion
a few lazy squirrels did die per the laws of Nature thus illustrating to all that the incentive
was real. Occasionally there were calls to provide at least some minimum compassion but
these calls were steadfastly resisted lest the mistake of before be repeated.


This story ends with the surviving squirrels of the original society also learning and
applying this lesson. The experiment with socialism (i.e. that if a squirrel exists then it is
entitled to a share of the collective wealth whether it gathers nuts or not) was a dismal
failure that will not be repeated unless the lessons of history are forgotten. Privately run
and competing insurance systems to manage and reduce risk provide all the benefits of a
singular government system but without the expense and problems. Although the private
systems seem harsh and mean-spirited at times they are only following and working with
the laws of Nature. In the process and with Nature’s blessing, they make life better for all
except those who would cheat or become lazy. Government is best when government is
small and works in the interest of tax payers rather than in the interest of bureaucrats. A
squirrel can pay only a limited amount of tax. Otherwise there is no point in having a
government.


Since humankind is surely much smarter than squirrels it is inconceivable that humankind
would ever make this sort of mistake. Humankind is a lot more compassionate than
Nature and is surely smart enough and powerful enough to circumvent the laws of Nature
as they apply to lesser animals. Surely this is so.

Are we not compassionate squirrels? Do we not provide healthcare to the young and old? Do we not provide care for those who cannot take care of themselves? Do we not provide funding for a military? Do we not educate our young?

The size of government is too large, and when everyone blames everyone else for their problems, and those who are capable ask to be helped out because they have allowed their minds to become weak, and will not take responsibility. When this happens atlas will shrug, the responsible will leave, and the producers will cease to produce.

Just think about how many companies have closed since this great recession started.

Just look at how politicians shift the blame.

Just look at how many people around you are looking for someone to take care of them.

And then ask yourself this; ‘why am I not helping myself?’.

Why are you not standing up? Why are you not speaking out? Why are you not reading books and educating yourself? Why are you looking for another leader who will spoon feed you when you are capable of feeding yourself?

Take charge of your life, or run your ship into the ground.

The choice is always yours.

What the heck are you doing?

I decided to start this blog, in order to get things off my mind, and to help turn the switch on in others. I’ve spent the last 7 years living and thinking outside of the box, and it has led me to where I am today.

I know that I am starting to talk more and more about politics, and the reason is no more than my need of government to step out of the way of the people.

My home country, the one I was born in, has slowly crept up and strangled the life out of its people. It went from the largest empire in history, off the back of lazier-fair capitalism, free thinking and inventions, to a socialist snake pit.

I want to live in a world where people are free to think and live in the way that they desire.

When I first came to America, I saw that in people, I saw that they could make their dreams a reality. I saw the big cars, the tall buildings, the wacky ice cream shops, the fully finished basements, the custom designed swimming pools, and everything in between. I thought I had landed in paradise. Thinking back on it, I had. But at my young age, I did not realize that this dream was slowly being strangled.

We are all created equal, but we do not start off in the same place. For some it is easier than others. But what is, or should always be equal, is the chance for the individual to struggle, and if his head and his heart are in the right place, eventually, with determination, that he succeed.

Laws are supposed to be put in place so that the playing field is leveled, so that those with less can struggle, learn, and prosper their way to the top. Those who are already at the top, can learn, and use their knowledge to maintain their status. If they do not act wisely, they should always be allowed to fail, no matter how big or how wealthy. Those in the middle should be allowed to struggle, make a decent living, invent and produce their way to the top. Or, if they do not educate themselves, they should be allowed to fail also. That is capitalism backed by fair laws, that level the playing field, not laws that redistribute wealth. This is the most fair system in history. It does not give way to demi gods.

If the United States government was not so corrupt to the point that it is strangling itself and its people, I would not be blogging right now, and doing my best to warn others to wake up.

I actually hate politics. I’d rather be sitting on a beach right now with my wife, or taking her out to the movies. Sure we still do all those things, but it would be far easier to work, come home, and play video games without a care in the world. Right now I cannot sit still, I cannot play video games for more than a few minutes without the urge to write, without the urge to research. I have to dig deeper, to fall further down the rabbit hole.

Any why? Why? I hear you ask. Because:

I want my children to grow up in a world of opportunities, not a life of servitude, I want them to be able to struggle toward prosperity, not strain under the hardships of totalitarian rules.

I want to be able to buy and operate a skycar I want to be able to live a long life, well beyond the years my ancestors lived. I want to grow knowledge in my mind, teach others and help this world become a better place.

I want to live my life to the fullest, not just now in this moment, but in my future as well. Life is not a race against the clock, it is a marathon, and I want to enjoy each mile. When you know there are pitfalls ahead, do you stamp the accelerator, or shift gears and prepare for the dissent? A controlled dissent and then a roaring charge back up the hill again, is better than flying out into the middle, crashing, buckling the wheels, and spending extra time fixing the damage.

So it is my responsibility to help restore this country, and provide the shining beacon of hope in the world. Sometimes you don’t choose your destiny, it chooses you. Sometimes you find yourself waiting for someone to do something, then you realize you’re the only one who will.

I’ll stand for freedom, because its the one thing that is always worth standing for.

If we are to prosper as a nation and as a world, we need to live in freedom, with fair laws that keep real criminals at bay. If we are to advance technology to enrich our lives, we must first see and realize the quality of our lives, not allow the government to steer us like cattle, and use our technology against us.

I’m not particularly interested in helping my fellow man, he can help himself. But what I will do is ensure that he is able to help himself, and not held back by bureaucracy. It is bureaucracy that led to the dark ages, and held people back for centuries, and it is bureaucracy that will again lead back to that, if we do not stand up and defend our individual liberties.

I am not on some holy mission to prove a point. I am simply standing up against would be tyrants. I am standing up because I know that if enough people stand up, make their voice heard, do enough research, learn the truth in the world, that we can prevent tyranny and oppression.

That might sound really spooky un-realistic, but just look at the world around us right now, and some of the rhetoric that is going on between presidential candidates.

So if you like reading this blog, good, I am glad, I will continue to write for as long as I can, while the thoughts flow through my mind, while I am still ‘allowed to’ and I will do my best to expose the truth, and help teach what I have learned, to help the world grow and prosper.

Capitalism, liberty, free thinking, rule of law and inventions, these are amongst the greatest ideals of our time, and should always be upheld, it is how the world moves forward.

I hope enough people wake up and make a difference before it is too late.

Ron Paul or a bust

Do you want to see Obama defeated in this year’s presidential election?

Do you want a leader who adheres to the constitution of the United States, or just another teleprompter in chief?

Do you want a strong leader, who will arm wrestle his way through legislation, or a leader who will set this country back on the track of independence and freedom?

My friends, I love freedom, and in the years that I have lived in this great country, I have done a great deal of research into what it means to be an American, and what it means to have liberty.

During the republican debates, I have found only one good candidate for office. There is only one who will put this country back on track, only one who will restore this country to what it should be, and only one who has your freedom in mind.

His name is Ron Paul, and I endorse him to become the next president of the United States.

Now the media would have you believe that Mitt Romney is the front runner, and that he would be the best contestant against President Obama. But would he be the best person to put in the white house? Sure…he’d probably be better than Obama…but given Romney’s flip flop nature, how can we trust him? Romney has lived a life of leisure, and has been groomed for success. But all he’s ever done is loot from other companies, stripped assets, and bloated government.

Newt Gingrich, who is the media’s current flavor of the week, has benefited from certain legislation and would endorse the police state.

For Mitt Romney to become the republican nominee all he  needs to do is sit tight, keep his mouth shut and look pretty. Don’t you think he’s quite handsome? Look at that lovely smile…reminds me of someone else I know.

All he has to do is give a few decent talking points, tell the crowd how much Obama sucks as a president, and allow his many corporate backers to write mammoth checks for his advertising and campaigns. The New World Order will continue unprecedented, and the Overton Window will shift ever closer toward a regimented lifestyle and back toward the ruling elite. But:

There is one candidate who stands in his way: Ron Paul

No other candidate has a proven background like Ron Paul, and no-one else is standing up toward the special interest media, and corporate groups.

In order to get rid of Ron Paul, the media does its best to blank out Ron Paul, they’ll silence anyone who stands up for him:

They do their best to discredit him, and now that Ron Paul is gaining momentum, they’ll use anything they can to stop him. They’ll even prop up the other candidates and use them as cannon fodder, to protect their chosen one, the illustrious Mitt Romney.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Mitt Romney is not unstoppable; he is not even very popular. He has a lot of big buck backers, and that is about it. All the other candidates are cannon fodder to use against Ron Paul.

The cannon fodder

Now I’ve heard that Ron Paul is unelectable and he doesn’t have a very good foreign policy.

Well shucks, wasn’t Ronald Reagan ‘unelectable’ also?

Wasn’t Ronald Reagan’s policy to keep the troops home, and rebuild them here on our soil?

Isn’t this country technically bankrupt? At 15 trillion dollars, equivalent to a years output of GDP, do you think we can afford another war? Do you think we can afford to police the world? Do you think we can afford multiple army bases all over the world?

Logic dictates that NO is the only answer.

Do you think it is a good idea to have our troops scattered around the world while the country is going bankrupt? Do you really think another country is going to fill the void and place troops all over the world when America leaves these bases?

Can this country afford another four years of Obama? Can this country afford another teleprompter-in-chief? Can we afford to trust a flip-flopper? Can we afford Romney-Care or Obama-care?

I don’t think this country can withstand much more of these failed polices and big government, from the right or the left.

The only person I see who actually has a concrete plan to fix this nation, to fix the economy, to maintain, preserve and restore freedom is Ron Paul. I don’t think we can afford to allow the media to have us ignore him any more.

For those who love freedom, for those who want a return of independence, for those who wish to return to a smaller government; consider very carefully who you vote for during the primaries.

Here is to freedom and to Ron Paul, whom I believe (if we can get him through the republican primaries) will crush Obama in the debates, and who I believe will not only become the best leader this country has had since Ronald Reagan, but indeed become one of the greatest presidents in history.

Money; Capitalism and the Gold Standard

A free thinking, and abundant society is built off the mutual exchange of goods and services. Capitalism, for the first time in history, leveled the playing field away from ‘dignitaries’, and allowed all men to become equal and trade goods and services between each other.

Capitalism, in its purest form, guarded by the people with a limited government, has allowed the largest leaps and bounds of science and technology in history.

Up until the 1920’s there was a gold standard for money, and it meant that in all developed countries, your money had a value to it and was backed by gold. During the gold standard, money always retained its value.

After the gold standard, the world switched to a fiat currency, which is backed by ‘trust’ in the stock market and government. As more money is printed on paper, the value of it becomes worth less and less, because there is more of it circulating. Special interest groups gain more fiat money that is printed, while the working class lose the value of their money, while making no more than they were before.

In 1924 you could buy a Model T for the cost of about 3 months wages. How many cars can you buy for 3 months wages today, based upon the median American income?

This is all due to deflation of value. We call it inflation of the markets, but all we’re really doing is raising prices and lowering the value of our products and money.

The biggest money scam in history took place at the end of 2008 during the presidential debates with the bail out funds.

Unfortunately our capitalist system has been hijacked by special interests and crony capitalists.

Some say that socialism is the answer. I say that it is not, as it drags everyone down to the lowest level of mediocrity.

Money is not the root of all evil. I contend that corruption is the root of all evil. Without corruption, special interests and the looters of society, we wouldn’t be in the financial mess we’re in today.

Come to think of it…are WE really in a financial mess? After all, its the governments and special interest groups that caused this mess. We’re simply the enablers, the ones who didn’t do anything to stop it from happening, and now we have to suffer the consequences. Check out yesterdays post to see why YOU are to blame. I believe that with a gradual return to the gold standard, and ‘sound money’ we will return to a strong dollar and return our purchasing power. Our work will become more meaningful, since our money will become more valuable, and if coupled with de-regulation and tax cuts, our economy will begin to regenerate and thrive once more.

According to their own prophet, Karl Marx, Russia was the last country in which Communism could be historically possible, because of Russia’s backwardness in industrial development. Don’t delude yourself by minimizing the danger. You see what is going on in Europe and what it’s doing to our own country and to your own private life. What other proof do you need? Don’t say smugly that “it can’t happen here.” Stop and look back for a moment.

The first Totalitarian dictatorship happened in Russia. People said: well, Russia was a dark, backward, primitive nation where anything could happen — but it could not happen in any civilized country.

The next Totalitarian dictatorship happened in Italy — one of the oldest civilized countries of Europe and the mother of European culture. People said: well, the Italians hadn’t had much experience in democratic self-government, but it couldn’t happen anywhere else.

What price your smug self-confidence? Totalitarianism is not a new product of historical evolution. It is older than history. It is the attempt of the worthless and the criminal to seize control of society. That element is always there, in any country. But a healthy society gives it no chance. It is when the majority in a country becomes weak, indifferent and confused that a criminal minority, beautifully organized like all gangs, seizes the power. And once that power is seized it cannot be taken back for generations. Fantastic as it may seem to think of a dictatorship in the United States, it is much easier to establish such a dictatorship than to overthrow it. With modern technique and modern weapons at its disposal, a ruthless minority can hold millions in slavery indefinitely. What can one thousand unorganized, unarmed men do against one man with a machine gun?

And the tragedy of today is that by remaining unorganized and mentally unarmed we are helping to bring that slavery upon ourselves. By being indifferent and confused, we are serving as innocent Fifth Columnists of our own destruction.

There is no personal neutrality in the world today.

Repeat that and scream that to yourself. In all great issues there are only two sides — and no middle. You are alive or you are dead, but you can’t be “neither” or “in between.” You are honest or you are not — and there is no neutral “half-honest.” And so, you are against Totalitarianism — or you are for it. There is no intellectual neutrality.

The Totalitarians do not want your active support. They do not need it. They have their small, compact, well-organized minority and it is sufficient to carry out their aims. And they want from you is your indifference. The Communists and the Nazis have stated repeatedly that the indifference of the majority is their best ally. Just sit at home, pursue your private affairs, shrug about world problems — and you are the most effective Fifth Columnist that can be devised. You’re doing your part as well as if you took orders consciously from Hitler or from Stalin. And so, you’re in it, whether you want to be or not, you’re helping the world towards destruction, while moaning and wondering what makes the world such as it is today. You do.

The Totalitarians have said: “Who is not against us, is for us.” There is no personal neutrality.

And since you are involved, and have to be, what do you prefer? To do what you’re doing and help the Totalitarians? Or to fight them?

But in order to fight, you must understand. You must know exactly what you believe and you must hold to your faith honestly, consistently, and all the time. A faith assumed occasionally, like Sunday clothes, is of no value. Communism and Nazism are a faith. Yours must be as strong and clear as theirs. They know what they want. We don’t. But let us see how, before it is too late, whether we have a faith, what it is and how we can fight for it.

First and above all: what is Totalitarianism? We all hear so much about it, but we don’t understand it. What is the most important point, the base, the whole heart of both Communism and Nazism? It is not the “dictatorship of the proletariat,” nor the nationalization of private property, nor the supremacy of the “Aryan” race, nor anti-Semitism. These things are secondary symptoms, surface details, the effects and not the cause. What is the primary cause, common to both Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany, and all other dictators, past, present, and future? One idea — and one only: That the State is superior to the individual. That the Collective holds all rights and the individual has none.

Stop here. This is the crucial point. What you think of this will determine whether you are a mental Fifth Columnist or not. This is the point which allows no compromise. You must choose one or the other. There is no middle. Either you believe that each individual man has value, dignity and certain inalienable rights which cannot be sacrificed for any cause, for any purpose, for any collective, for any number of other men whatsoever. Or else you believe that a number of men — it doesn’t matter what you call it: a collective, a class, a race or a State — holds all rights, and any individual man can be sacrificed if some collective good — it doesn’t matter what you call it: better distribution of wealth, racial purity or the Millennium — demands it. Don’t fool yourself. Be honest about this. Names don’t matter. Only the basic principle matters, and there is no middle choice. Either man has individual, inalienable rights — or he hasn’t.

Your intentions don’t count. If you are willing to believe that men should be deprived of all rights for a good cause — you are a Totalitarian. Don’t forget, Stalin and Hitler sincerely believe that their causes are good. Stalin thinks that he is helping the downtrodden, and Hitler thinks that he is serving his country as a patriot. They are good causes, both of them, aren’t they? Then what creates the horrors of Russia and of Germany? What is destroying all civilization? Just this one idea — that to a good cause everything can be sacrificed; that individual men have no rights which must be respected; that what one person believes to be good can be put over on the others by force.

And if you — in the privacy of your own mind — believe so strongly in some particular good of yours that you would be willing to deprive men of all rights for the sake of this good, then you are as guilty of all the horrors of today as Hitler and Stalin. These horrors are made possible only by men who have lost all respect for single, individual human beings, who accept the idea that classes, races, and nations matter, but single persons do not, that a majority is sacred, but a minority is dirt, that herds count, but Man is nothing.

Where do you stand on this? There is no middle ground.

If you accept the Totalitarian idea, if the words “State” or “Collective” are sacred to you, but the word “Individual” is not — stop right here. You don’t have to read further. What we have to say is not for you — and you are not for us. Let’s part here — but be honest, admit that you are a Totalitarian and go join the Communist Party or the German-American Bund, because they are the logical end of the road you have chosen, and you will end up with one or the other, whether you know it now or not.

But if you are a Humanitarian and a Liberal — in the real, not the prostituted sense of these words — you will say with us that Man, each single, solitary, individual Man, has a sacred value which you respect, and sacred inalienable rights which nothing must take away from him.

You believe this? You agree with us that this is the heart of true Americanism, the basic principle upon which America was founded and which made it great — the Rights of Man and the Freedom of Man? But do you hear many voices saying this today?

Do you read many books saying this? Do you see many prominent men preaching this? Do you know a single publication devoted to this belief or a single organization representing it? You do not. Instead, you find a flood of words, of books, of preachers, publications, and organizations which, under very clever “Fronts,” work tirelessly to sell you Totalitarianism. All of them are camouflaged under very appealing slogans: they scream to you that they are defenders of “Democracy,” of “Americanism,” of “Civil Liberties,” etc. Everybody and anybody uses these words — and they have no meaning left. They are empty generalities and boob-catchers. There is only one real test that you can apply to all these organizations: ask yourself what is the actual result of their work under the glittering bromides? What are they really selling you, what are they driving at? If you ask this, you will see that they are selling you Collectivism in one form or another.

They preach “Democracy” and then make a little addition — “Economic Democracy” or a “Broader Democracy” or a “True Democracy”, and demand that we turn all property over to the Government; “all property” means also “all rights”; let everybody hold all rights together — and nobody have any right of any kind individually. Is that Democracy or is it Totalitarianism? You know of a prominent woman commentator who wants us all to die for Democracy — and then defines “true” Democracy as State Socialism [probably a reference to Dorothy Thompson]. You have heard Secretary [Harold] Ickes define a “true” freedom of the press as the freedom to express the views of the majority. You have read in a highly respectable national monthly the claim that the Bill of Rights, as taught in our schools, is “selfish”: that a “true” Bill of Rights means not demanding any rights for yourself, but your giving these rights to “others.” God help us, fellow Americans, are we blind? Do you see what this means? Do you see the implications?

And this is the picture wherever you look. They “oppose” Totalitarianism and they “defend” Democracy — by preaching their own version of Totalitarianism, some form of “collective good,” “collective rights,” “collective will,” etc. And the one thing which is never said, never preached, never upheld in our public life, the one thing all these “defenders of Democracy” hate, denounce, and tear down subtly, gradually, systematically — is the principle of Individual Rights, Individual Freedom, Individual Value. That is the principle against which the present great world conspiracy is directed. That is the heart of the whole world question. That is the only opposite of Totalitarianism and our only defense against it. Drop that — and what difference will it make what name you give to the resulting society? It will be Totalitarianism — and all Totalitarians are alike, all come to the same methods, the same slavery, the same bloodshed, the same horrors, no matter what noble slogan they start under, as witness Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany.

Principles are much more consistent than men. A basic principle, once accepted, has a way of working itself out to its logical conclusion — even against the will and to the great surprise of those who accepted it. Just accept the idea that there are no inalienable individual rights — and firing squads, executions without trial, and a Gestapo or a G. P. U. will follow automatically — no matter who holds the power, no matter how noble and benevolent his intentions. That is a law of history. You can find any number of examples. Can you name one [counter-example]? Can you name one instance where absolute power — in any hands — did not end in absolute horror? And — for God’s sake, fellow Americans, let’s not be utter morons, let’s give our intelligence a small chance to function and let’s recognize the obvious — what is absolute power? It’s a power which holds all rights and has to respect none. Does it matter whether such a power is held by a self-appointed dictator or by an elected representative body? The power is the same and its results will be the same. Look through all of history. Look at Europe. Don’t forget — they still hold “elections” in Europe. Don’t forget, Hitler was elected.

Now, if you see how completely intellectual Totalitarianism is already in control of our country, if you see that there is no action and no organization to defend the only true anti-Totalitarian principle, the principle of individual rights, you will realize that there is only one thing for us to do: to take such action and to form such an organization. If you are really opposed to Totalitarianism, to all of it, in any shape, form, or color — you will join us. We propose to unite all men of good will who believe that Freedom is our most precious possession, that it is greater than any other consideration whatsoever, that no good has ever been accomplished by force, that Freedom must not be sacrificed to any other ideal, and that Freedom is an individual, not a collective entity.

We do not know how many of us there are left in the world. But we think there are many more than the Totalitarians suspect. We are the majority, but we are scattered, unorganized, silenced and helpless. The Totalitarians are an efficient, organized, and very noisy minority. They have seized key positions in our intellectual life and they make it appear as if they are the voice of America. They can, if left unchecked, highjack America into dictatorship. Are we going to let them get away with it? They are not the voice of America. We are. But let us be heard.

To be heard, however, we must be organized. This is not a paradox. Individualists have always been reluctant to form any sort of organization. The best, the most independent, the hardest working, the most productive members of society have always lived and worked alone. But the incompetent and the unscrupulous have organized. The world today shows how well they have organized. And so, we shall attempt what has never been attempted before — an organization against organization. That is — an organization to defend us all from the coming compulsory organization which will swallow all of society; an organization to defend our rights, including the right not to belong to any forced organization; an organization, not to impose our ideology upon anyone, but to prevent anyone from imposing his ideology upon us by physical or social violence.

Are you with us?

If you realize that the world is moving toward disaster, but see no effective force to avert it —

If you are eager to join in a great cause and accept a great faith, but find no such cause or faith offered to you anywhere today —

If you are not one of those doomed jellyfish to whom the word “Freedom” means nothing —

If you cannot conceive of yourself living in a society without personal freedom, a society in which you will be told what to do, what to think, what to feel, in which your very life will be only a gift from the Collective, to be revoked at its pleasure at any time —

If you cannot conceive of yourself surrendering your freedom for any collective good whatsoever, and do not believe that any such good can ever be accomplished by such a surrender —

If you believe in your own dignity and your own value, and hold that such a belief is not “selfish,” but is instead your greatest virtue, without which you are worthless both to your fellow-men and to yourself —

If you believe that it is vicious to demand that you should exist solely for the sake of your fellow-men and grant them all and any right over you —

If you believe that it is vicious to demand everyone’s sacrifice for everyone else’s sake, and that such a demand creates nothing but mutual victims, without profiting anyone, neither society nor the individual —

If you believe that men can tell you what you must not do to them, but can never assume the arrogance of telling you what you must do, no matter what their number —

If you believe in majority rule only with protection for minority rights, both being limited by inalienable individual rights —

If you believe that the mere mention of “the good of the majority” is not sufficient ground to justify any possible kind of horror, and that those yelling loudest of “majority good” are not necessarily the friends of mankind —

If you are sick of professional “liberals,” “humanitarians,” “uplifters” and “idealists” who would do you good as they see fit, even if it kills you, whose idea of world benevolence is world slavery —

If you are sick, disgusted, disheartened, without faith, without direction, and have lost everything but your courage —

— come and join us.

There is so much at stake — and so little time left.

Let us have an organization as strong, as sure, as enthusiastic as any the Totalitarians could hope to achieve. Let us follow our faith as consistently as they follow theirs. Let us offer the world our philosophy of life. Let us expose all Totalitarian propaganda in any medium and in any form. Let us answer any argument, every promise, every “Party Line” of the Totalitarians. Let us drop all compromise, all cooperation or collaboration with those preaching any brand of Totalitarianism in letter or in spirit, in name or in fact. Let us have nothing to do with “Front” organizations, “Front” agents or “Front” ideas. We do not have to proscribe them by law. We can put them out of existence by social boycott. But this means — no compromise. There is no compromise between life and death. You do not make deals with the black plague. Let us touch nothing tainted with Totalitarianism. Let us tear down the masks, bring them out into the open and — leave them alone. Very strictly alone. No “pro-Soviet” or “pro-Nazi” members of the board in our organization. No “benevolent” Trojan horses. Let us stick together as they do. They silence us, they force us out of public life, they fill key positions with their own men. Let us stick together — and they will be helpless to continue. They have millions of foreign money on their side. We have the truth.

As a first step and a first declaration of what we stand for, we offer you the following principles:

We believe in the value, the dignity and the freedom of Man.

We believe:

— That each man has inalienable rights which cannot be taken from him for any cause whatsoever. These rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

— That the right of life means that man cannot be deprived of his life for the convenience of any number of other men.

— That the right of liberty means freedom of individual decision, individual choice, individual judgment and individual initiative; it means also the right to disagree with others.

— That the right to the pursuit of happiness means man’s freedom to choose what constitutes his own private, personal happiness and to work for its achievement; that such a pursuit is neither evil nor reprehensible, but honorable and good; and that a man’s happiness is not to be prescribed to him by any other man nor by any number of other men.

— That these rights have no meaning unless they are the unconditional, personal, private possession of each man, granted to him by the fact of his birth, held by him independently of all other men, and limited only by the exercise of the same rights by other men.

— That the only just, moral and beneficent form of society is a society based upon the recognition of these inalienable individual rights.

— That the State exists for Man, and no Man for the State.

— That the greatest good for all men can be achieved only through the voluntary cooperation of free individuals for mutual benefit, and not through a compulsory sacrifice of all for all.

— That “voluntary” presupposes an alternative and a choice of opportunities; and thus even a universal agreement of all men on one course of action is neither free nor voluntary if no other course of action is open to them.

— That each man’s independence of spirit and other men’s respect for it have created all civilization, all culture, all human progress and have benefited all mankind.

— That the greatest threat to civilization is the spread of Collectivism, which demands the sacrifice of all individual rights to collective rights and the supremacy of the State over the individual.

— That the general good which such Collectivism professes as its objective can never be achieved at the sacrifice of man’s freedom, and such sacrifice can lead only to general suffering, stagnation, and degeneration.

— That such conception of Collectivism is the greatest possible evil — under any name, in any form, for any professed purpose whatsoever.

Such is our definition of Americanism and the American way of life.

The American way of life has always been based upon the Rights of Man, upon individual freedom and upon respect for each human individual personality. Through all its history, this has been the source of America’s greatness. This is the spirit of America which we dedicate ourselves to defend and preserve.

In practical policy we shall be guided by one basic formula: of every law and of every conception we shall demand the maximum freedom for the individual and the minimum power for the government necessary to achieve any given social objective.

If you believe this, join us. If you don’t — fight us. Either is your privilege, but the only truly immoral act you can commit is to agree with us, to realize that we are right — and then to forget it and do nothing.

There is some excuse, little as it may be, for an open, honest Fifth Columnist. There is none for an innocent, passive, subconscious one. Of all the things we have said here to you, we wish to be wrong on only one — our first sentence. Prove us wrong on that. Join us.

The world is a beautiful place and worth fighting for. But not without Freedom.

Is this still America, is this still the land of the free and the home of the brave?

When I see the tea party protests and gatherings, I see there is hope and light at the end of the tunnel.

Remember the declaration of Independence. Today it is more important than ever that we remember this. We  still hold these truths to be self evident:

I never thought I’d say this, but this is one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard, and it came from a comedian. The movie ‘The great dictator’ was a huge slap in the face to the tyrannical rule of Nazi Germany by Adolf Hitler. Here is Charlie Chaplin’s infamous speech for all of humanity:

And, for those who think that the government is too big, and our cause of freedom too small, remember that the country I am from, was once surrounded, alone and by itself, against one of the most tyrannical dictatorships in history, and yet, the voice of one man led the country through the darkness, and eventually with the help of this great nation, led the world to victory and freedom.

Today our island is freedom, and the last beacon of hope is America, the enemies of freedom are already on these shores, but more people are becoming aware, and the ruling elite are scared. Keep up the fight, continue to spread truth, use words as your weapons, and knowledge as your shield. We need not a bloody revolution, but an awakening to the great history of the two countries that have both exposed freedom best, who’s English speaking ancestors eventually landed on these great shores to continue freedom, and those who declared Independence when the motherland became too oppressive. Today we declare our Independence from tyrants both foreign and domestic. We proclaim our freedom, to self govern, and for the individual to self determine and manifest his own destiny. As Winston Churchill said; Never give up, never give in!
